OK I gotta replace my bulb, after all the reading on here I've decided to just get a new hid kit. Im interested in one of the ones with the slim ballast, I checked ddmtuning and vvme. Now my question is do i need the (optional?) hid harness, and/or error eliminator? Also I'd like to get a pair of those adapters DLF used and I think somebody else on here used, can I buy them from somebody on here or do I HAVE to make my own which im greatly trying to avoid. Help me please!

You can buy my adapters HERE.

You don't need anything except the basic digital slim ballast 9006 kit.

I got the DDM kit on my 98 and I get a" Check Headlamp" message everytime I turn my lights on. Even though the both come on. Although I did opt for the higher wattage kit and the harness.

I thought everything seemed pretty clear.

Not quite clear. There are questions about relays needed and/or the lamp out clear module that some manufacturers sell. I guess the question is ...who has an installation with no problems and what were the components used to produce a problem free conversion. Thanks

Did you use the original wiring before the original ballasts ?

Yep. I took the wires that go into the factory ballasts and hooked them into the new stuff.

Again, you don't need to buy anything other than the basic kit and some adapters. The "error" modules don't change anything, I've tried them.

You may get an error message if you use the auto-lamp while starting the car, but other than that, I get no errors at all.

I have to wait for a few seconds after starting the engine at night before switching on the headlights or I'll get an error message. So I switch on the parking lamps, back out of the driveway and then flip on the headlights....then no message....... I'm sure it all depends on a flip of a coin on the new HIDs and if/when the message comes on. The illumination is well worth the few seconds at start-up! What's a alternative????? A gen 1 where ya can't see at all?

You have a Gen 2, correct?

Did you wire into both of the original feeds at the bottom of the radiator core?

Get rid of the relay kit.

It's a 98
Yeah used both, However I think I'm gonna stick with the way it is, doesn't bother me that much, just push reset once and it's gone.

I think if I called DDM they would just say to buy the error clearing module.

You want me to get the wiring schematics (think I already posted them) and you cand get the correct voltage or whatever to install some resisters?

Thanks but i'm pretty sure they are already in the service manual cd i have.

So an unexpected voltage is what causes the error?
