RE: Hood Scoop
I have only seen two different fiberglass hoods available for the Mark 8. Supercoupe Performance sells both. Of course anything will fit anything if you can do the fiberglass and body work yourself. Just find a ram air scoop you like from Lund, Summitt, or Jegs and graft it onto your stock hood with a hole cut out of the hood for air to enter. It's going to be pretty hard choice with what's out there to not make it look cheesy. The only ram air setup I've seen that i like is that TASCA twin intake ram air that is on Genos prototype Lincoln Mark VIII white car. It is subtle and refined looking enough to be called factory, but works.
I have been pondering the engine compartment cooling issue also. My headers heat it up to twice the heat of a stock manifold it seems when i open hood on hot day. Unbearable to work on it till it cools or sits for an hour or so.
I am thinking more on the lines of a spoiler for the lower front valance that rams air up into the engine compartment. The front grille is pretty much useless for air intake with the radiator, AC condensor, and a F-350 truck tranny cooler all in a row. I am going to mod my factory plastic lower valance with fiberglass to be more rake and wider length so that it hangs down more in front to scoop air in from the bottom.
I have no problem with the exiting of air with the fiberglass Cobra R hood. It's getting cool air inside the engine compartment to blow on the headers that's the problem.
