I now it has been asked before but there have been quite a few newbies lately and I figured it's time to ask again.

How did you find this Club/Site?

RE: How did you hear about this site?

I found it while doing a search on Google also.

RE: How did you hear about this site?

Google actually found the other site for me, and then I came over with the club durring the switch.

RE: How did you hear about this site?

Well i found out by msn search, I have given out at least 17 LOD cards in the Joilet, IL area.

RE: How did you hear about this site?

In Feb of 1996, my 87 GT was stolen and the engine blown.
Previously I had owned an 1989 Taurus SHO, and was looking for a 95 SHO when I stumbled on a 1993 Mark at the local Lincoln dealer.
I drove it... and after much negotiation it was mine.
However searching the Internet I could find nothing on the Mark, so I created a page that now resides dormantly here: http://www.geocities.com/scipvteye/mkviii.html
Sometime after I had that page up Alexander emailed me and gave me the Link to the old, old message board site, and asked that I include it as a link, which I did.
This site and its precursors have been such a value, that I have not maintained my page in years....

RE: How did you hear about this site?

Well... once upon a time there were these guys who had cars. These guys liked to fix their cars and would readily swap stories and techniques they used in their quest for the perfect Mark VIII. Then, one day, one of them got jealous because one of the others had typing skills that were better than his. Him, being the evil minded mastermind that he was, immediately started scheming a way to infiltrate and sabatouge the others masterfull typing skills. He knew he couldn't carry out such a large plan himself so he banded togeather with other car owners who had superior typing skills but were not as intellectually minded and needed a leader to carry out a plan of such deviousness.

His main goal being to take over the world our villan first became savy with the machines on which typing is used. He learned the mechanics and configuration settings of superior machines from all over the world. His plan was one of much typing and configuring. He made platforms on which he would make users type many many letters and numbers at high rates of speed and therefore defeating his ememy through carpel tunnel syndrome. Pages of characters were needed to be typed just for a single character to be expressed. Paper reserves were depleted from countries all over the world and piles of documents piled up in garages around the world of Mark VIII owners. Forests were cleared. State parks were raped and their trees hauled off to secret paper making factories. The president of countries called upon eachother for help and wrote the Treaty of Paper. The character code was an incription none could crack so the typing continued and the paper mounted.

The effects of his plan were not as successfull as he liked. He lost control of his efforts and lost sight in his plan. There was dissentian in the ranks and per prior intruction from him and upon his attempt to terminate the plan his followers rose up and conquored his crumbling kingdom. He was then left out from the inner circle of leaders and attempted to save his crumbling kingdom by appealing to the kindness and laws of his own humanity. These attempts though not wholely successfull were enouph to keep himself a chair on the board of typing trustees. Unaware of his dissentors a faction of unreputable though brillian typist began formulating a plan to undermine the spiderweb of brillance our villan had pieced togeather with the blood sweat and tears of other typist. These factons grew to a point of bubbling over and were not able to be contained within the group any longer. Our villian, tired of his long plight to gain respect of his typing skills watched as a new generation of typist came to control his industry. New platforms were developed and typist of all kind came out of the woodwork to create wonderfull and beutifull works of typing.

They shared this knowledge and passed it on to me. That's how I found this place. :)

RE: How did you hear about this site?

Geno told me about it after I had pretty much built my other car the first time.
I thought I was the only person in the world who was building a markVIII.
He told me about this site and the rest is history.

RE: How did you hear about this site?

I found out after I got my new LOD window decal and this web address was on it.

RE: How did you hear about this site?

I found this site more than 2 years ago when I was looking at Mark VIIIs to buy. I was getting information on them and happened upon this site. One of the best "stumble upons" I have ever done.

RE: How did you hear about this site?

Like 4 years ago I checked out the cal viii.org site and inquired about my lousy headlights...Cal promptly replied he was tired of the bad headlight issue and to search the archives...OK I thought (?)....
(Just imagine how tired he is of it now)

After 3000 posts over there, Sandy showed me this new magical place called LOD this spring.

Comments: I just bought a 1998 Mark VIII LSC Collector's Edition. It is Collector's Edition serial number 1144. It was was built June 12 1998. It is probably one of the last Mark VIII's built. It is unfortunate that this great car is no longer in production.

This is my first new car. This is the best car I have ever driven. Performance and road handling are impressive. My first car(bought used), which I still have is 1959 T-Bird which was also assembled in the same Wixom, Michigan plant where my Mark was built. T-Bird and Lincolns were assembled in the same plant starting in 1958 since they shared unibody construction.

I am thrilled that there is a site dedicated to the Mark VIII. I would like to know what is available to improve performance and appearance on these near perfect cars. Is there a club dedicated to these cars?

Comments: I recently acquired a 93 Mark VIII and am interested in subtle but effective mods. I really would like to give it a meaner stance but don't want to mess up the ride quality. I would like to see a stock suspended car with a 17-inch 50 or 55 series tire, or an 18-in 40/45 series. Does anyone out there have pics they could send me? Somebody please help!

There several of the long standing members here with posts on the guest book....

Comments: I still visit this page frequently. I like viewing the guestbook to see what owners have to say about their cars. Please visit my web page. You might want to join our club for Mark VIII's.

I still am enthusiastic as ever about my 98 LSC Collector's Edition.

Thank you.

Comments: I have been driving performance Mustangs for over 25 years and wanted a new Cobra 4.6 DOHC but with a teenage son my auto insurance would have been slightly above the cruise altitude of a SR-71 Blackbird. SO I did the next best thing. I now own a Mark VIII LSC with a 4.6 DOHC but only 290 hp instead of the Cobra’s 305. Maybe I'll add a K&N air filter and a computer chip to get back to my roots (only in more comfort this time).

Comments: Just up dating my listing from a year ago. My 95 LSC is going great and inserting a SuperChip into it turned it into a whole different kind of performance car. If only Lincoln had done that at the factory they would still be building them.
