How do you remove drivers door panel on a '98?

For some reason one of the JBL speakers in my '98 does not work (top one, drivers side). I bought a replacement speaker from Jamie and want to replace the one not working. What is the correct procedure for taking the panel off without damaging anything?.

Carefully pry the little black triangle off the upper front of the panel. Carefully take the courtesy light lens off. Look under the armrest for a small rectangle and remove it. Remove the bolt behind the rectangle, and the screw from behind the lens. Remove the doorhandle cup from behind the inner door handle - pry gently behind the forward lip. Slip the entire panel straight up about 2", and it should be loose except for the wire connections. Its too early in the a.m. for me but thats all I can remember for now.

Fixed, and a big fat THANK YOU!. Never would have figured it out and probably would have damaged something if it were not for the tips!. Strange thing is that the speaker for whatever reason was just not hooked up. Weird.

Lol, a lot of times people overlook that seperate tweeter connector because the rest of the door harness is connected to that lower plug. When I install/remove the door panels, that tweeter plug is the first to be removed/installed. Kinda a PITA too because its soo short.

yes it is for sure, check out the thread on markviii.org to get the latest. looks like its gonna turn out decent too, finally!!!
