HVAC air filter? or interior filtering issue?

My HVAC is blowing all sorts of junk around these days. i am curious if there is some sort of filter or filtering system i could check/modify.

I get the lil foam fuzzy's flying out, as well as a fair amount of dust. So something must have degraded in there.

I've been pulling bits of foam from my vents for quite some time now.

I think the foam is used as gaskets in the HVAC case and ducts.

I'm not going to worry about it unless I have to pull the instrument panel for something else, like a heater core replacement.

I wish companies would stop using cheap foam that deteriorates in 10 years. I've seen many instances of this, especially in the surrounds of expensive speakers.

yeah, i never saw anything that said there was in interior filter, but i had to ask.

i get tons of dust and foam tho.

Any mods out there? or shall i work on my own?
