Hypocracy at its best

RE: Hypocracy at its best

I saw that posted on another forum recently, but i know i've seen a similar pic to that a long time ago. The headline should read "please laugh at this dumb ----"

(hypocrisy)

RE: Hypocracy at its best

hy·poc·ri·sy ( P ) Pronunciation Key (h-pkr-s)
n. pl. hy·poc·ri·sies
The practice of professing beliefs, feelings, or virtues that one does not hold or possess; falseness.
An act or instance of such falseness.

From www.dictionary.com

So, I don't get it. What's hypocritical about a woman being concerned about the additional effects of the noise? The picture may look ridiculous, but I fail to see the hypocrisy.

I smoked when I was preggers. Depending on your definitions of fine, the kid turned out fine. But I still didn't drink. Go figure. We all make choices on what we can live with and what risks we take.

She's professing to being concerned about her baby, but ignores the advice of every medical expert in the universe. If you don't believe that, point me in the direction of those that think that the mother smoking might be good for the unborn.

Sorry. :(

It would be more hypocritical if she said the air was bad due to the construction, or complained about the noise from the jack hammer but cranked the stereo up in her house.

RE: Hypocracy at its best

I think "dumbass" is about the best description i can think of.

She's just looking for an excuse to bitch about the noise.

RE: Hypocracy at its best

She is actually very smart. She is hedging her bets. If she has a spontaneous abortion, abruptia placenta, or an underweight newborn, or an infant with cleft palette, Sudden Infant Death, cancer or other problem associated with her smoking, she can blame it on the jack hammers.

Amen.

RE: Hypocracy at its best

Obviously, this women doesn’t give a rats ass about her "new born". If she cant give up the habbit, she shouldnt be having kids. Its very unfair for that child to go through the chances of having serious medical issues because his mommy couldnt give up smoking.

To the Jackhammers, I say do your best.

Reminds me of an email...

First, we survived being born to mothers who
smoked and/or drank while they carried us.

They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing
and didn't get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright
colored lead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles,
doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes,
we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we
took hitchhiking.

As children, we would ride in cars with no seat
belts or air bags.

Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day
was always a special treat.

We drank water from the garden hose and
NOT from a bottle.

We shared one soft drink with four friends,
from one bottle and NO ONE actually died
from this.

We ate cupcakes, bread and butter and drank
soda pop with sugar in it, but we weren't
overweight because WE WERE ALWAYS
OUTSIDE PLAYING!

We would leave home in the morning and play
all day, as long as we were back when the
streetlights came on.

No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K.

We would spend hours building our go-carts
out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only
to find out we forgot the brakes. After running
into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve
the problem.

We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's,
X-boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels
on cable, no video tape movies, no surround
sound, no cell phones, no personal computers,
no Internet or Internet chat rooms..........WE HAD
FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there
were no lawsuits from these accidents.

We made up games with sticks and tennis balls and ate worms
and although we were told it would happen, we did not put out
very many eyes, nor did the worms live in us forever.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house
and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or
just walked in and talked to them!

Little League had tryouts and not everyone
made the team. Those who didn't had to learn
to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke
the law was unheard of. They actually sided
with the law!

This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers,
problem solvers and inventors ever!

The past 50 years have been an explosion of
innovation and new ideas.

We had freedom, failure, success and
responsibility, and we learned HOW TO
DEAL WITH IT ALL!

RE: Hypocracy at its best

JP....thanks man...nice reminder.

Remember my old saying:

doctors need lawyers
lawyers need doctors

if society would quit bithcing, and blaming others, doctors and lawyers wouldnt be so hard to afford, and law suits wouldnt be so easy to file.

I have known plenty of people who smoked while preggers, and the babies turned out fine. I also know a few people who didnt touch the toxins, and had some messed up kids.

But i have yet to see/hear about a baby born with
Jackhammeratosis.
