the other day i had a car towed in to fix for a woman locally, a 97 black on graphite lsc, 64k miles on it. i had to change the air ride compressor. the day before i had a black 97 base towed to the shop that we bought at the auction, plus i was there in my car, so i had to take pics lol, 3 black 2nd gens in the parking lot, i thought it was cool, and probably a one shot deal!

and earlier before those pics i had 5 total at the shop, its funny the looks i get when people go in and out of my shop and see all these mark VIII's sitting there. 4 outside and one inside!

wow, it would be like a kid in a candy store if I was there, nice idea and great pics

I still can't believe how modern the Gen IIs look. If lincoln was to sell it at the dealer now it would not stand out as something old and outdated! Great pics!

Looks nice Jamie.

It looks like your spending more time repairing Mark VIII's than you are dismantling them.:)

oh its not odd to see alot of mark VIII's in florida, whats odd is 3 black ones at my shop at the same time!!!
this state is loaded with marks, i think more came here then any other state!

Jamie, I just couldn't find the right pics. Our old midwest meets consisted of black Mark VIII's along with Steve Trapp's "purple" one. It's gotten better, but we used to have the most boring car pics.

maybe when they sold max, but i bet currently the most are in florida, all the blue hairs bought them and they all migrated to florida from all points of the country!
a purple mark VIII? i thought i was the only one who saw one of them, maybe because i am the one who painted it that color!! i love me a purple mark VIII.

Doesn't Geno at LMS have one?

Yeah, Geno has/had one. No, Strapp's changed color in the light, I forget what color it was like a silver, and in some light it had kinda a purplish hue to it. It just pissed him off when I called it purple. ;)

well the car i pictured is a 93, factory color is dark cranberry which i did repaint it, the clearcoat was shot on the car and it had two good sized dents. but the owner asked if i could put some royal violet pearle in the clearcoat, which i said no problem, well you can see in these pics, how drastic the pearle changed the color of the car, it went from a dark cranberry to more of a plum crazy purple, it changes to blue in the light, he loved it, but we both didnt think it would change the color of the car so much.
this was the factory dark cranberry base coat:

and this was after i cleared it with the pearle in the clear:

well this is a good friend of mine and a repeat customer of mine, i am the only one who works on his car now, he ditched his old mechanic because of over charging and didnt have much knowledge on mark VIII's. i have done alot of work to this car over the last 2 years. it only has 60 something thousand miles on it. he bought all the supplies needed, i told him what to get and he did, i think he had around $600 bucks and i got $700 bucks plus a jensen in dash 7 inch dvd player which i turned around and traded the tv plus $200 for my 18's and tires so i guess you can say i made out with $500 bucks plus around 1500 worth of rims and tires!
