I flunked my test.

I had a stress test this morning & I flunked.

Dr is going to do an angiogram in the am and depending on what they find I could go home, have a stint put in or open heart surgery.

Wish me good luck.

Good Luck! If you have to have a stent.. don't worry too much. I had one 5 years ago and it was relatively painless. But let's hope you don't have any procedure at all.

Hoping for nothing... :D

which would normally be the easiest thing to hope for... :D

Thanks everyone. I'm hoping for the best.

I went all these years without any surgeries and this year has been different. In April I had TKR (total knee replacement) and now this.

I get strength from my wife who has endured more surgeries than I can recall and is now recovering from breast cancer with complications from lymphedema.

Good luck, yes as FLM said its a stent, which isn't too bad and aside from the balloon angioplasty is the next best thing. They last for a long time. Be safe and let us know how it goes

Yeah, I found out what a stint is and I hope they don't do THAT to me. ;)

But maybe THIS would be appropriate.

All the good wishes worked, I don't need a STENT or anything. Just waiting to be able to stand so I can leave the hospital.

When looking up about stents, I found a long discussion on the Howard Stern forum about which is the right spelling stent or stint that was quite lively and funny.

Yes, a stint is spending time somewhere like a stint in the Army for instance.

I thougt it was funny that that medical site would spell it incorrectly.

Lol I spent 15 years in the medical field thats the most common mispronunciations, glad it all worked out

I had convinced myself that the angiogram was going o be very unpleasant and the outcome not so good. On both counts I was wrong. The test was not that bad at all, and I'm happy to say the results were great.

I do wonder why the cardiogram while on the tread mill doing the stress test showed irregularities. I'll see the Dr soon and ask.

Thanks again for the all well wishes. I have a feeling they may have helped.

how old are you, maybe I can shed some light, won't be DR worthy but could be close. And what problems were noted on the cardiogram?

I'm 76 and I don't see the Dr 'till next week. The Dr talked to my wife after the angiogram and told her the results were very good.

I had an ultrasound exam of the Aorta today and that turned out good too.

Ok, 76 I wasn't expecting that but as you know all systems deteriorate as you get older and based on outward symptoms sometimes it's warranted to see how things are working on the inside.
