I miss you guys.......

OCCUPY LoD :)
Hey everyone! Just wanted to stop by and say sorry for going AFK for awhile. Most of you know what I'm doing so you're probably ok with it, I just wanted to let you know that I miss the friendships that I've made here. I will try to post when I can on the weekends, but I can't promise that I keep up with everything....expecially helping out, but I'm sure you guys can manage. :D

Where the heck is Bud? Did he ever leave San Diego?

Well.....back to the academy....have a good rest of the week guys!

J

 Whatever, Jesse! :har: J/K, We miss you too. I posted in another thread how it was quiet here without you. Then I wondered, "Is that good or bad?" Hope things are well at the academy, stay strong!

Hey bud! Glad to see your still alive and well! Yeah it has been sort of quiet around here without ya here, but we will get through. Visit back soon!

i was just going to make a thread asking if anyone saw you, yesterday. How funny you did anyway. Glad you are doing good, keep up the hard w9ork it will pay off in the long run.

Gees J, I left you a message...Not only did I leave San Diego, I got back home today. Sorry we couldn't get together, but the old time/distance/relatives thing got in the way. Too much USA to see and not enought time to do it all!! Drove over 10,000 miles and spent wads of cash on diesel fuel!!! would I do it again???? DANG RIGHT I WOULD....just give me a few weeks to rest my butt!

The grapevine was an interesting run with the 30' trailer. The tow/haul mode really worked on the downhills and the 6.0 diesel pulled the biggest hills gracefully. Didn't do 70, but kept up with everyone else....I bushed...goodnight!!

Hey guys.....thanks for posting! 5 weeks down! Woot! Next week we start our EVOC training and I'll probably get behind the wheel the following week. Things are starting to look up as I'm able to keep up during the runs, and the floor exercise and we are starting to do all the fun stuff.

The first weeks we were learning a bunch of "dry" material, and the vehicle code is pretty uneventful. Last Monday they did room inspections and pretty much every person in my class got a Wednesday restriction for this coming Wednesday, so I won't be coming home AND I'll have to write a 3 page memo....

Anyways....glad things are going well, I'm doing good and the academy life sucks, but I'm focused on getting that star pinned on my chest and the feeling I'll have walking across that stage.

Take care...time to go study!

Bud....never got any message. :( Glad you had an awesome trip though! :D

Hey J not to worry. When I went to Military college I never missed a Saturday doing punishment tours! Look at all the money you'll save by stayn out of the saloon. Best wishes on your endeavors.

I miss you too Jesse, but it's good to hear that things are going along for you! Good luck!

Thanks Sharon! No worries here, and you're right...I save a HUGE amount of money sleeping/eating at the academy. As a matter of fact, I'm getting PAID to do it, haha.

Next week we start EVOC! w00t! We start with Vehicle Placement, and move onto the skid pan......basically a figure 8 kind of track that is hosed down with water, and they tell you to get as close to a constant drift as possible all the way around. Cake walk..... This will be super easy, you know why? Because a Crown Vic is just like getting a Mark 8 sideways....super long, super heavy, and VERY unbalanced, but with all my practice I should be good to go! :D

We don't get to drive the Camaros though :(

Anyways....things went well this week, and it flew by! We have been getting up really early so its been tough, but I've been Ace'n all my tests and getting about 6 hours of sleep, so I'm still hangin in there, haha.

Hows things in the M8 world?

I don't know if you ever drove a Vicky at the limit... but I would say it is easier to handle than the mark once you get the hang of it... it is super wide which makes it pretty darn stable plus you get a more or less alright suspension with the police package. This should be tons of fun!! Enjoy yourself!

Hey Jesse,

I just got back from a trip to Tahoe, as I was going through Sac.( of course at the speed limit officer) I saw a sign for a CHP training center and thought of you.. Are you training in Sac. and do you know where you will be placed after academy?

Hey there. That was me....at the "training center". There is only one academy in the entire state so you couldn't mistake it for another. Thanks for thinking of me, you should have stopped by and checked out the CHP Museum and stuff! You probably wouldn't have seen me, and if you had seen some cadets, we all look the same, haha.

Thanks again!

I did "skid pan" on tuesday.....oh man, I pwnd that track! A mini autocross corse, with polished concrete and flooded with water......freaking awesome! I did so good, the instructer told me to try to oversteer the entire track, haha!

Check it out....I bought myself a "present" yesterday..........

Samsung 32" HD LCD 16.9, 1080i, Picture in Picture, Component Video and more....works freaken GREAT for all my gaming needs!

Don't mind the blurry picture....I was soooo excited I took it with my camera phone, haha. I previously had a 22" refridgerator on my desk, so this gave me a reason to clean off my desktop, haha. I got a super deal too and 2 years no interest.......the guy gave me a 10% discount on the already low "open box buy" at Best Buy, lol.
