As most of you know Tom (XLRVIII) and I race EVERY friday night and once a month in the Car Club Bash at Lonestar Raceway in Sealy, Tx.
Here it is, "play by play" action of the two days.

Friday Night, Street Stock…
Time Trials: I run 9.91, 9.88, 9.89, 9.90, 9.90, 9.91, 9.95 and 9.89. Time to sit and crunch numbers. What will my Round 1 dial in be?
Round 1: My dial in 9.90, Other Lane 11.52. I’m the “fast car”… ok Tiff, DON’T REDLIGHT! His tree comes down… RED LIGHT! My WIN light COMES ON! I ran a 9.87.
Round 2: My dial 9.87, Other Lane 8.60. It’s a buddy of mine! (I hate that, but that’s drag racing) I’m the “slow car” this time, meaning I have the FIRST chance to LOSE. DON’T REDLIGHT! My tree comes down… I get just passed the 60 foot when, MY WIN LIGHT COMES ON! He did it too! He made the REDLIGHT come on! I run a 9.90 on my 9.87 dial in… what to do now?
Round 3: I leave my dial in at a 9.87. I’m set and ready for a GREEN light race. Who do I have to race? TOM! I’ve got to race TOM!! His dial in is 9.82, this is going to interesting “light show”. The tree falls with a short stager… NO win lights. This is a GREEN LIGHT race! Close all the way, we cross the finish line and… MY WIN LIGHT COMES ON! But, we BOTH breakout! I ran a 9.86 he ran a 9.81, I was 0.0021 to fast and he was 0.0058 to fast. WAY TO PICK SOME NUMBERS!! But, what do I do about my dial in?
Round 4: It’s the Semi’s! But, we’ve only got 3 cars. Someone is getting a “Bye” run. The cards are pulled…I’VE GOT THE BYE!! So, I leave my dial at 9.85 and I run a 9.85!! I was 0.0006 off my dial in! Do I leave it for the next round?
Round 5: It’s the FINAL, I’ve made it to the FINAL! I move my dial in down to a 9.84, I DON’T want to breakout AGAIN! But who do I have to race? It’s the Lighting Truck in #3 in the points! I’m a little worried, this guy is GOOD! His dial in is 7.99, I’m the “slow car”. Ok once again I tell myself, “DON’T REDLIGHT”. My tree comes down… I get passed the 60 foot and, MY WIN LIGHT COMES ON! He redlights, I WIN!
I WON STREET STOCK! I got 50 points AND moved up into the number 4 spot in the points!!
Saturday, Car Club Bash…
Time Trials: I run a 9.88, 9.82 and 9.91. This is going to be a little harder. What do I dial?
Round 1: My dial 9.84, the other lane 7.95. I’m the “slow car”. Once again I tell myself, “DON’T REDLIGHT”. My tree comes down… I get out passed the 60 foot and MY WIN LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN!! It’s a REDLIGHT! I run a 9.90. I need to change my dial in for the next round.
Round 2: My dial in 9.88, the other lane 9.30. Close but, I’m still the “slow car”. My tree comes down… my WIN LIGHT COMES ON! Another REDLIGHT! I run a 9.76. Hmmm… What to dial?
Round 3: My dial 9.74, the other lane 8.05. Again, I’m the “slow car”. Deep Breath, DON’T REDLIGHT! My tree comes down… and again I get just passed the 60 foot and MY WIN LIGHT COMES ON! Another REDLIGHT! I run a 9.83… WAY off my dial in.
Round 4: My dial 9.80, the other lane 7.88. This being the “slow car” stuff is working out! But don’t get excited and, don’t redlight! My tree comes down… his tree comes down. He’s COMING! It’s GREEN… he’s coming FAST! No room to “lift”, I keep my foot to floor and PRAY! We cross the line… MY WIN LIGHT COMES ON!! I run a 9.82 VERY CLOSE, he runs a 7.91. Margin of victory is 0.0577; whew that’s pretty close.
Round 5: My dial 9.80, other lane 10.79. Cool, this time I’m the “fast car”, I get to be the one chasing. He’s tree goes… MY WIN LIGHT COMES ON!! ANOTHER REDLIGHT! I’m in the semi’s!!
Round 6: SEMI FINAL. My dial 9.83, other lane 11.18. Alright I’m the “fast car” again! His tree goes… it’s green. Don’t redlight Tiff! My tree comes down… I’m green! But he’s about half-track! WILL I CATCH HIM? Foot to the floor, this isn’t looking good. My car shift’s into 2nd and I pull just ahead of him, right before the Finish line… we cross. MY WIN LIGHT COMES ON!! He breaksout and runs 11.13. I run a 9.84 off dial by 0.0154. Margin of victory 0.0608. I MADE IT TO FINALS!!
Round 7: FINAL. My dial 9.83, other lane 8.49. Oh no, I’m the “slow car” again. Deep breath, don’t redlight, my tree comes down… I’m green and running away. His tree goes…he’s green and coming to get me! But… he’s not coming as fast as he should be. I look again, he’s still not there. BRAKE!!! I slammed my foot on the brakes, held them tight and crossed the finish line at 66 mph (I run 74mph in the 1/8). MY WIN LIGHT COMES ON!! I did it again! I WON!! Look back at the time slip, my light .552 to his .717. That’s WHY he wasn’t coming like he should have been!
I WON THE ORIGINAL ELIMINATOR!!! TWO Trophies in 2 days!! WOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!
