Leo people that live in Cali are just upset they could never make snowmen when they were kids growing up out there :D
[/div]

Not True in California we go to the snow instead of the snow coming to us!

RE: Ice/Snow Storm

Cant make snowmen? is that the best you got? Jeeesh. I can drive from the beach where its 70 degrees, to the snow, in less than 4 hours.

You guys need to quit yer bitchin, and either move, or quit complaining.

and as far as the ground shaking?... The east coast has had more "natural disaters" than we have lately. The ol "earthquake" line got old in 1948 Leo... remember? :B

Stanley, we might get another 0.0003" of rain this season, then I can pack my umbrella away for 9 more months.

Ok, seriously- Leo, if you want me shot, I suggest you head on out here, and take care of your own dirty work....(please, get dressed first though)

Sorry you guys have to deal with "full seasons"...but remember, I chose to live here where it "might" shake a few times every 10 years. I'll take that risk over frozen car doors, and shoveling snow any day.

Ok, time to turn off the A/C and go to bed.

Wait a sec... why would anyone in their right mind drive from a bikini laden beach to snow, especially if it takes four hours? Skiers are just as nuts, drive four hours, wait on ski lift lines for another two, all for a 10 minute ride down a big hill. ::wtf::

RE: Ice/Snow Storm

I take it you dont get out much.

being able to "visit" snow is awesome. You get to leave it behind when you are done!

And my response was for the John C. who made a comment about us not being able to build snowmen. I can build a snow man...anytime i want between late November and April. I just dont have to stay there, freezing my nads off. I can build a snowman, get in my car, and 4 hours later, build a sand castle...(unless an earthquake knocks them down)

Anyway, skiing is not the way you described....maybe 40 years ago(last time you went?)...now they have high-speed ski lifts that get you to the top in 10 minutes, you can spend 20 minutes skiing down, and you only stand in line for about 5 minutes to do it all over again. The ride up in the chair is a pleasure. You get to take a snip of your whiskey, grab a smoke/cigar, enjoy the picture/postcard perfect beauty of mother nature, and basically catch your breath before you go bombing back down the mountain at insane speeds, catching air off that jump you spotted on your way up.

by the time you get to the bottom, you're ready for a breather.
besides, its good exercise Leo. However, it does require clothing, not P.J.'s.

RE: Ice/Snow Storm

Thanks for the local weather report Stanley. Could I sent you some ice to put in your cocktail? We are getting more snow and ice tomorrow. :)

RE: Ice/Snow Storm

Yeah it might be nice to not see rain for that long, but we don't have to worry about fires. Wasn't there just alot of mudslides goin on in Cali? Seems like plenty of natural disasters out West as well.

Anyway what is the fun of going 4 hours to play in the snow and then have to leave the snowman you just built behind.

Craig I am not complaining about the weather, just messing around some about this stuff.

Besides it only snows for a few months we get the best of all 4 seasons here not just one or two.

RE: Ice/Snow Storm

If it doesn't stop raining in California it'll delay the fire season.

bah...so-cal is a state by itself. Mudlsides, fires, earthquakes...you guys talk about it like it ONLY happens here...I think its mother nature;s way of trying to eliminate the hollywood losers.

Jack...did you know fires keep the insect populous down? I've been to tampa...you guys need more fires.

John...;) I know buddy. Me too.

east coast is a wonderful place to visit...Calif is a wonderful place to live.

Never seen an earthquake here.

Cali doesn't have the fall season with the changing of leaves. Fall in the Northeast makes for the best car cruising hands down. Driving a back road crossing a covered bridge or 2 the various colors of leaves and driving through old fashioned towns. Nothing compares to it. You westcoast people are missing out.

Besides Northeast winter = time to make mods to the cars

Several things the Least Coast believes about the Best Coast but were too afraid to ask!

1. Not everyone in California lives in a Mansion.
2. We are not all Rich!
3. The earth does not move everyday or every month or every year!
4. Hollywood is not a five minute drive from the Goldengate Bridge
5. Our trees do change color's in the Fall!

Fall Colors Coming Up!
The Big-Leaf Maples, Dogwoods, Hazelnuts, and other shrubs will begin turning into their fall colors gradually. The best color is early November and will generally last until around Thanksgiving. Some Mountain Dogwoods start turning red even in August, but late October is usually best. A good time to see the peak of color is right after a strong rain, when the ground is sometimes carpeted with red and yellow leaves knocked down from the trees

Now that you know, don't make the same mistake twice!

Insects? In Tampa? LOL! We consider them protein. Don't forget the four hurricanes we had last year. I know I won't.

4 more reasons to love Calif.

as far as "colors of autumn"...I lived in New Brunswick for 4 years. I know what chabging colors is all about. I lived through 95 degree, 95% humidity-summer days, the most beautiful colors in autumn, 225,000 feet of white snow in the winter, and the brightest sporing "thaw" you ever laid eyes on. I KNOW what seasons are....and I know we lack them here(Stanley, face it...we "do" see colors here, but NOTHING like Nor-east....Nothing.

No snow to shovel, now Ice to drive on, no hirricanes, tornado's, gnats, sticky air, no Nor-Easters, and the likes...but we do have one thing you east coasters could never top...

GAS PRICES!!!

Lets face it...each place has its perks. I chose earthquakes over snow. You chose autumn colors over shaking earth.

We all choose USA!!!
(except for Ron, and a few others, ey?)
