I'm getting nailed with earthquakes!

There are just so many things I'm trying very hard not to say... :p :p :p

seriously though, that is just unacceptable, you should tell California to stop moving... :D
 
I would be sending out resumes while I was packing up the house and belongings. I spent 6 months in LA in the late 60's and experienced a coupe of tremors & fond it very unsettling. I turned down a transfer because of this and a few other details. Best wishes for you J, as I know you have to be concerned.
 
Good God, that page says you've been having several a day for at least a week. Granted they're mostly tiny tremors, but that can't possibly be normal. Or is it?
 
Lol, I'm not too concerned. If California falls into the ocean, I'll get a LOT of overtime! :)

There are a TON of little ones....aftershocks as they call them, but I don't think aftershocks are 3-4 hours apart. They aren't really unsettling to me, kind of fun I guess.

The last one I felt (3.9) sounded like a UPS truck was driving up the road (hollow thumping sound) and I was walking in my wood floored shed so I didn't realize what was going on until it was actually over. Thats how most have been. The last one I felt back in May or June was crazy. It was a 4.3 but it was 3 miles from the house I was at. Sounded like a car slammed into the house or someone slammed a sliding glass door REALLY hard and then a rumbling shake. Same thing......WTF was that....oh, was an earthquake. Only last about 5 seconds so with perseption/reaction time, its done by the time you can freak out.
 
Yep, I just watched a thing on PBS (deadliest earthquakes) that was saying its gonna be bad and its long overdue. All the geologists and scientists say LA is going to get it the worst, therefor it will kinda trickle up the SA fault and cause multiple quakes at once. LA is where you don't want to live though.

So I did a little better research (computer vs. small phone screen) and found that I'm not on the SA fault per se, I'm directly above the Zayante fault which comes off of the SA fault. Here are some pictures...the fault is the green line.

Here is the fault that is 1000 feet from my house! :wave: Number 59, the green one right above Prunedale, but west of Aromas.

its funny how bad people think florida is but you'll never see florida snap off and drift out to see like cali already is doing. i'd take 10 hurricanes before i would take that quake that hit years ago and dropped buildings and half the interstate system over there! at least things here get knocked over, but we dont get swallowed up in huge cracks in the ground and get burried alive lol! but i wouldnt mind seeing what it feels like to go through an earthquake!

They have been saying that for forty years. I guess if they keep saying it they will be right someday.

I've lived here all my life(46 years) and only 1 bad earthquake, 1989. Every bit of the world has it's problems.

Barry...we could always move to Salinas and just get shot. LOL! Speaking of Salinas...you should drive by my place on your way there or back some day.
