Intermittent key pad

My driver's door keypad sometimes works and sometimes not. It always has power, and can always lock the doors, it's just that sometimes I have to enter my code numerous times to get it to unlock. Other times it works on the first try.

Anyone else experience this?

RE: Intermittent key pad

mines been intermittent where it won't work at all. Like it doesn't get power. Works about 75% of the time.

RE: Intermittent key pad

Never had a problem with mine, but I don't use it very often.

RE: Intermittent key pad

strange... On the Gen 1's the keypad harness is bolted to the door if I recall correctly. I do not see how it would come out. Msut be a wire getting pinched or something.

never had the keypad not work for me.

RE: Intermittent key pad

Leo, I have had that happen to mine in the past. It would not work after numerous tries..then suddenly it would work fine for 6 months in a row. It has happened a total of three or four times since I have owned the car. I believe it is a problem with the interior light timer, or the door sensor. Try spraying WD-40 into your door locks.

It's Lincoln's clever way of giving you a sobriety test... http://www.markviii.org/~badsax/smileys/beer.gif

If you can't operate the keypad, you probably shouldn't be driving... http://www.markviii.org/~badsax/smileys/lol.gif
