Jeremi -- Aftermarket gauges

I make stuff
Jeremi,
I recently got a couple new gauges and want to install them in the defroster panel, do you have any pics of what you did with the tan car?

I'd love to see anything you've got.

Thanks!

Or, J, if you could post up some pics, I'd appreciate that as well!

Here you go

If you need more let me know.

I need more. lol.

I love to see some pictures of the backside of it, or even some progress pics of how it was done, or something...

I've got an idea to try, but not sure how it'll play out...

I'll see what I can do. May be a few days though. The gauges are probably just held in with the metal tabs they come with or maybe nothing. I can push/pull them out a lil without removing the face panel. I do know that the panel is cracked under the left gauge because it is so close to the edge.

1 or 2 gauges would be a better fit. 3 is pushing it. Get one of those multi function ones.
The back is not pretty that's for sure. They are held in by friction only as there is no room for any brackets. Pictures ? Dude, this was done in the no-camera ages ;)

If it was me.

I would go with a single din headunit on the bottom.
Install two PLX gauges on the top, kick them at a slight angle.

Make a bracket with your machining skills, paint it black.

I like this look.

I also like what Dean (FLMfan) did with his A-pillar pod. He molded the pod and the pillar trim pice together and then painetd it. Makes it looks like it was factory installed as opposed to something bolted on.

No excuse, you should have taken some polaroids or something... :D

I'm actually going to use 2 multi-function gauges, PLX brand. One plugs into the OBD port, and the other will utilize a wideband o2 module for A/F. And if I ever want to add anything else, all I have to do is buy the module. Pretty neat setup.

I thought about doing that, but I really like the idea of having them in the defroster panel. The only crappy part is, I have to figure out where to relocate the seat heater switches...

I'd love to make something super custom with machining skills, but unfortunately, I'll only have access to the equipment until next Thursday. I'm getting out of the Navy, and that's my last day at work. :( I'll miss all of the equipment...

Luckily mine doesn't have heated seats but the rear defroster switch was relocated onto the drivers side of the console, kinda under the dash.
