I went with a 2 in 2 out 2 1/4" Magnaflow muffler with built in X.
I installed the muffler in place of the third cat/resonator setup. I then ran dual mandrel bent tubing out to the stock exit locations. I used no other muffler. The sound is awesome. It is exactly what I wanted. There is no drone while driving. It has a little sound at idle, but maninly when you get into it. I have several really "loud" cars, and this setup is not what I would call loud...but well each have our own ideas on this. Perhaps the 2 1/4" kept it a bit quieter than some. It has that "Mustang" sound that some are looking for..I would suggest this setup for others.

after driving it for a few days now..it probably is too quiet for me ) No way this would be a problem even for the "no noise" crowd. Not a bit of drone and just a nice healthy sound if you floor it.

also..I watch my mileage very closely in my cars, I always have I know when somethimg has changed after every tank full. Well, after the new exhaust, I have a 3% increase in gas mileage. Now that isn't a huge gain, but it aamounts to about 1/2 MPG increase in around town type driving. What is important here is that I made the engine more efficient, regardless of the small increase. My engine is "happy" with the better breathing, so it wasn't a mod that had no real world change.
