Leather Help and Tips?

I have a 1983 Lincoln Continental Mark VI with white leather interior.
The leather is in amazing shape. It however is 29 years old and the leather is thin and not that is has "cracks" as the leather is not split or splitting but has natural lines in it that have lost the color so they tend to stand out a bit.
Y'all have any tips on how to treat that so the interior looks its best and maybe strengthen and protect the leather?

I was told by someone that using white shoe polish (testing it first to see if it matches) to make the lines look better or even go away. Didn't want to even try that till I asked about it. As for protecting, if I do the shoe polish idea then it would have to be something that would not pull the newly applied color out.
I have also been told not to put seat covers on it as they cause more problems then good. I don't know how true that is but, if I did put covers on it I would need them to be leather or vinyl as it makes it easier for me to get in and out of because of my prosthetic leg. Love the white leather and I want it to last.

There is one problem that I find to be big. On the passengers seat there is a small hole that is about the size of a dull pencil tip. There is no leather missing and it is a pretty clean hole. I don't want this getting any worse and want to get it taken care of pretty quick here. Any tips y'all can give to repair that and not have it look like a patch job?
