Lexus...

Pauls dropped 8

hockey was canceled this evening. i find this out after i drive the half hour (for the usual driver, it would take 45 mins) to get there and after i put on all the equipment. o well. i drive home and decide to take an alternate route (i95 all the way back instead of switching to the 836/826). once i get back to us1, i make my way through the slow moving traffic and pull up 2nd in line at a red light and see this gold lexus take off. i immediately make my way over to his lane and chase him down. he catches a light just ahead and i pull up next to him right as the light turns green, so i got the jump. i see him get on it once we get to about 10mph so i kick the pedal. we stay even till about 80 (i also kept jumping on him when id shift gears) and then i start pulling away. he never once had the lead and once he realized i was walking away he shut down. he pulled up next to me asking what i had and i told him a fully stock v8 and i ask him if he's got the 3 or 400 (i knew it couldnt have been a stock 300) and to my suprise he tells me a stock 430. i was under the impression these could beat us.

for the record, it was the gs430. add another notch...

RE: Lexus...

hmmm, I have seen many tests with those things doing 13.9’s all day.

After owning a Lexus LS400, I’ll tell you this, to race a Lexus you have to unplug the battery and reset the ECC due to the learning Transmission.

If you don’t drive it hard 24/7, the tranny will adapt to your smooth driving habit, and shift according to your driving habits (early).

To be very honest, that car has more guts then the Mark, driven a few, and I know how they perform. So basically, Either you have a bang of Mark, or the other guy was smoking weed.

Nice.

RE: Lexus...

my mark is actually a slug compared to most. before my session on the dyno, i had 204hp at the wheels. i did just switch from premium to midgrade gas though. j/k, i doubt that had anything to do with it.

the guy was shocked, and really, so was i, especially when he said 430 instead of 400. i wonder what it wouldve looked like had i not had my giant bag in the back seat and the usual in the trunk. man i cant wait till i swap out this giant sub box and replace it with a tiny enclosure with a single 12. it'll be half the weight back there...

RE: Lexus...

It's funny to realize how many people think my car is supercharged... Just last week, I was toying with a Saab 9-3 Turbo. When the 9-3 came up to pass me in traffic (about 20mph), I dropped into first and pulled (far) away. He got next to me a few lights down, and asked if my car was supercharged, he was surprised to find out that it was N/A, told me I had a nice car, then drove away. Getting asked if it's superchaarged just makes me so happy to think that she'll be forcefed some day! I love being able to steer with the throttle! :)
Wooooohooooooo!!
