LMS exhaust

But the thing is, people don't expect that kind of sound to be coming from a Mark! Mustang yes, but not a Lincoln.

Nice thing is it doesn't cost anything to try it to see just how loud or quiet it may be. Maybe a few bucks for a couple of clamps and a pair of pipe extensions.

lmao, i would but it wouldn't be street legal here with no mufflers

No one would know if you put tips on it. See my thread here...first pictures are with no mufflers. And the sound isn't obnoxious or anything so nobody would be the wiser.

I don't like the sound of FlowMaster mufflers on a Mark VIII. Just my 2 cents.

I agree 100%. Flows on a Mark sound like garbage.

So then what wouldn't sound like garbage on a Mark? Those LMS are loud and so are Flowmasters and Magnaflows. I'm sure none of us wants to keep our Marks quiet and stock.

My magnaflows sound sweet. My 95 had no 3rd cat, resonator, or mufflers and sounded better then a flow on a mark.

It's not the flow master that sounds bad, it's the location of the mufflers in my opinion.

Gotcha, I have a dual in/dual out Magnaflow with internal X-pipe on my 97 Thunderbird 4.6 , same setup as my Mark, but my Mark sounds a bit louder and with more growl. Regarding muffler location, would I be better off on my Mark ditching the single muffler in the middle and then putting 2 mufflers in the stock locations in back? Would that be louder? Any performance aspects to that or not really?

Sorry for the thread hijack!

I do.
lol

the thing is, its not a true dual exhaust, the guy at the exhaust shop said to make it true dual he might have had to remove the converters, idk how you guys do it, but without converters or mufflers, i can't get the car inspected lol. and the flows imo sound not too bad on here, resonator was deleted when the exhaust was done. the exhaust starts out as one pipe then branches into two mufflers. it has a nice little rumble, and yes originally these cars weren't build to be track cars or loud street cars, but with a classic car and a nice exhaust, what could go wrong. i would like an aggressive sound, like i pull up to someone and they hear me exhaust and say what the, look over and go no way thats a lincoln. i honestly just want a classy looking mark with a bad a$$ sound to it. what about flowmaster super 44's? would that be louder than the 40's? i have no clue.

The LSC's have true dual exhaust, I just took one off my parts car (the CE is an LSC too).

Even the stock mufflers sound better with the duals.:)

This was taken off my '93 and put on my '96.

The DynoMax mufflers were replaced with SS MagnaFlows.
