Looking for Shocks

i had my blue 93 for 4 years, my white 97 lsc for 3, my black 98 for 2, and my green 93 for 2, my black 93 was the only one i had for less than a year, i have replaced more than just shocks!
 
....and shocks (should) last longer than 4 years!! Most do! And since you can't drive more than 2 cars at a time (you & wife), there's no way(normally) to exercise shocks when you aren't using the car.
 
The real issue I had with the OEM shocks was the mounts and the taping noise you would get when they went, they would go way before the shock itself. So i got the mounts from Eddie but you had to get the shocks from him too to get the new mounts. My mother has a 2000 maxima that she got new back in 99 so it is 10 years old with the OEM shock/struts and they are just fine, but she does only have 30k miles on it. :D
 
my parents have a 2004 Kia Optima, they just had new front and rear struts done on it last month at nearly 700 bucks, all 4 factory struts were pissing oil out of them, the car rode like a train. 5 years old and they were smoked. no matter what brand you go with, el chepo's or top dollar, something will always happen and it can at any point. my buddy harry has a 2007 chrome edition ford f-150, its been to the dealer for a blown ac line, leaky water pump, power steering leak, and the huge one a front end fire due to a caliper freezing up, burnt the pass side nose and half the engine bay harness, my point is, its all made by someone, its mechanical, a cheap shock can last 10 years or 10 days, as well as anything. certain mechanical things i buy as cheap as possible, if i get my money's worth i am fine.
 
Using that same logic it makes sense to buy a $7999 kia and drive in that, cuz a civic will break same as the POS korean car? buahhaah
