Make-shift 1/4 mile track

After class yesterdy I headed for an industrial complex a few blocks away from my college. I used the tac to measure about a 1/4 mile and timed myself. First run was a 14.4 sec with o/d off tc off in drive the whole time. This was a good run my wheels NEVER spun in the start and the shift into second seemed real good. Second time I shifted manually, wheels spun on the start a bit and I didn't shift at the right time, 15.3 sec. Disapointed with that one. I g-tech my car once and ran a 14.8 with my friend in the car, spare tire and jack in, od on, tc on and in drive the whole time, so I'am hoping the 14.4 isn't too far from a real 1/4 mile time. Where do you Southern Cal guys go for track times, I want to get an official time?

My mods are ram-air, gutted MAF and Steeda crank pulley, and the spare and jack where out(about 50lbs)

If you used your odometer to measure a 1/4 mile, that's one source of error. Then, if you used a stopwatch to time yourself through it, that's another source of error. If that's the method you used, i'd say your error is +/- .5 seconds, enough to make your results virtually meaningless.

Sorry i can't tell you where to go to find a strip near you, since i'm on the other side of the country.

Yo D Day, What Type of Ram Air to you have.
I made a custom small ram air cut out by the bumper a few months ago.
Hope I can post some pics soon with the Grill done.

I ran a 3" tube down and around to the back of the grill, I had it going to the bottom of the bumper but it didn't seem that efficient
I have a lot of pics that I need to post.
