Maryland Track Meet Interest?

Every year for the past few years, I have participated in the more 'local' group of T-Birds, Cougars and Lincolns known as the Mid-Atlantic MN12 and their annual Summer Blast event which some of you participated in before.

This year we are trying to gauge interest on a private track rental. It would be for 4 hours on Saturday morning of August 25th, 8AM until noon. We would then have the afternoon to relax and prepare for the car show and picnic on Sunday to cap off the weekend.

The private rental would be in lieu of the Ford Event racing venue at the track.

The good and the bad of all this:

1) Unlimited run potential for 4 hours with your ride and no eliminations

2) 1 spectator in the car free to the track

3) Both lanes open and opportunites for heads up side by side racing.

4) Opportunites to work on your 60 ft, 1/8 and whatever tuning you may be able to do.

5) Like the NVMC group meets, I expect we'll have lots of fun

6) We can find other FORD cars or groups to join us like the Lincoln, Marauder guys to fill in the holes.

Bad:

1) The additional cost over the Normal Ford Race Day ($35 to run + $10) Specator. Basically $72 compared to $45 dollars

2) No track trophies or car show trophies on the Ford event day. (We won't be there for it)

3) A change of schedule for us - Saturday Racing & Sunday Picnic/Car Show & awards.

4) We must have 30 paid cars participating to make this happen.

5) We need to have the money soon to get scheduled.

The track rental would be at Mason Dixon Dragway, Hagerstown, MD and the Sunday events held in Martinsburg, WV similar to before.
