Me and my 96 CE

Hello all. My name is Robert and I am the proud owner of a 96 Collectors Edition.
The car is in good condition with 111k on the odometer. It runs and drives great but has the usual issues of a high mileage mn12/fn10. It needs upper and lower control arms and a rear air bag. Other than that it's a nice car.
I also have a 93 Thunderbird LX 5.0 so I'm familiar with the platform.
I've done a lot of reading on the site and have learned much. I look forward to learning more and maybe contributing my experiences to this forum.
 
there is no such thing as a 96 Collectors edition. you either have one of the following

98 Collectors Edition
96 Diamond Anniversary
96 LSC


Either way, welcome to LOD!!
 
Welcome Robert! You have come to the right place! We would all like a bit more info on your car. i.e. color ext/int etc.

Welcome to LOD, you may have a dealer modified edition. If you post up some photos we can help identify what you have.

Thanks. You're right. A Fruedian slip? Or maybe a senior moment. Anyway, it's a 96 Diamond Anniversary Edition.

Be advised, as you stated, your car is a Diamond Aniversary Edition. It is in fact a bit more rare than a Collectors Edition. They made about 1280 CE's, and only about 400 DA's. By the way - Thanks for the PIC!
 
Thanks. It was a lucky find. And yes, that is a black door handle. Overall the car is in good shape but it could use a paint job.

Painting the door handle back to the original body color would help. ;)

I am guessing that you did not get the Waterford crystal diamond plaque with the car, that is rare if you did.
