I dropped off my Mark this morning at the dealer to have some paint work done on the front bumper. They said it'll probably take three days, so until then I'm stuck with a rental.
It's a 2003 Jetta. It's "nice" because it's pretty new, but I'm once again reminded why I don't like 4-cylinders or front-wheel drive. I don't know what size the engine is, but it must be the cheapest one because there's no badging on the trunk (no 1.8T or VR6) and it's ridiculous slow. I think you could measure its 0-60mph time with a calender. And the HVAC system has "only" four fan speeds. And the stereo's bass response is ass - not that the JBL in the Mark is the best thing, but why do people think "loud and boomy" equals good base? And when I turned the car off when I got to work, I was waiting for the easy entry to move the wheel and seat (I did stop waiting after a second though ).
Not that there's anything really wrong with the Jetta, it's just amazing how much the Mark has spoiled me. I already want it back. I'll never be able to own a lesser car ever again. (What I really don't see is how people will pay more than $20k for a new Jetta.)
