New 1997 Mark VIII owner, some problems

Hello!

My name is Florian, I am living in Germany. :) I recently bought a 1997 Silver-Frost Lincoln Mark VIII with only 61,000 miles, it's in very good shape and has nearly no rust. The car has been imported in 2006 and was a former Florida car.

Unfortunately the car has some problems:

1. The cruise control doesn't disengage when I press the brake pedal, so I didn't use it on my trip to drive the car home (from Hamburg to Munich - about 900 km). Also the parking brake doesn't release when I press the brake pedal and shift out of 'P'; and the indicator light for 'P' doesn't work neither on the console nor in the dash, maybe there's an relationship?

2. The suspension is very hard, the car has coils and springs in front and coils and a air bag in rear. Is this the normal setting to change to coil/spring ride? You feel every bump, it's just not comfortable. Also the car seems to be very low. Is a hard ride normal for coil/spring settings?

Thank you!
