New Custom Stainless Exhaust System on The Mark!

RE: New Custom Stainless Exhaust System on The Mark!

Nice work! :) I especially like the thoughtful flanges. That will make future mods a lot easier! ;)

RE: New Custom Stainless Exhaust System on The Mark!

Pretty. How does it sound?

RE: New Custom Stainless Exhaust System on The Mark!

Nice looking and clean. Howd they get all those bend and no kinks in pipe like mine? Are they using mandrel bent 90's and 45's? and welding them all together? or do they have a mandrell bender there? Looks good. Yeah the 2 piece flanges was a good idea. Did you go with 2 1/4" or 2 1/2"?

RE: New Custom Stainless Exhaust System on The Mark!

Nice work, how much did that run you, at first i didnt like the tips but after a few looks it really grew on me, definitely a great choice for the mark. flanges are also a huge plus in my book also. very impressed. :)

RE: New Custom Stainless Exhaust System on The Mark!

The mufflers are polished SS Magnaflows. Verdict on the tips is not in yet. Thought I would try them since they are as close to stock looking out there. I felt the same way as some of you when I put the OctaStars on. They did not look right. They can be changed out easy enough if need be.

The cost is not cheap, at all... - you are looking at three days of custom fab work and welding, with no pinching/kinks in the 2 1/2" SS pipe curves :) . I dig the flanges for future mods }(

Wide band bung is located after the cat on the drivers side.

Here is my very first video production. Enjoy :) :

RE: New Custom Stainless Exhaust System on The Mark!

Sounds good! :)

Is the wide band bung supposed to be after the cat?

RE: New Custom Stainless Exhaust System on The Mark!

Todd said he called Lidio and talked to him for 45 minutes about the bung placement, and other things I would suppose, and that is where the bung ended-up. My thinking would be, that the wide band reading before the cat is more accurate. But, what do I know... If Lidio his happy with it, I am :) .

That exhaust is really nice, i would say one of the nicest i have ever sean on a mark 8. i just finished my exhaust on my new car the other day. i put dual 3.0 inch stainless steel with mid mounted ss magnaflow and two ss magnaflows in the back.

Dan, did you come up with a system to go from Kooks headers back ?
I still need something quiet to compliment the eaton.

RE: New Custom Stainless Exhaust System on The Mark!

if you want when i put kooks on i can build you a complete system on my car and send it to you. it would cost me to much to build a jig to do a bolt on system. there is not enough of us out there for me to build a jig. no building a one off on my own car that could be arange. i could also maybe see how far off the system i have for the t-bird is with the kooks headers.

i know it is not fair i have two mandrel benders and i had the program done already but this system only took 5 hours. also it is not tig welded ;(

i would have loved to do it that way but i cant tig yet and our tig guy here quite. also i did not find any tips i like yet so i just put straight pipe there... it is hard to find a nice oval with a 3" inlet.

RE: New Custom Stainless Exhaust System on The Mark!

I made up my mind on the fr500 mufflers (offset/offset 2.5").
Now, the kooks have 3" collectors. I would like to have another mid mount muffler (2in/2out). What do you think about placing another x-pipe behind the pumpkin ? I would like to have 3" downtubes to the mid mount, then 2.5" to the x-pipe behind tyhe pumpkin, out to the fr500 mufflers.

OK BIG REQUEST FOR HELP HERE!!

ANYONE changing your exhaust on a 2nd Gen I desperately need a driver's side stock teardrop exhaust tip. IF YOU CHANGE YOUR EXHAUST DON'T THROW AWAY THE TIPS!!! I'll buy them from you. Moose has a mangled tip and I can't find them anywhere.

RE: New Custom Stainless Exhaust System on The Mark!

I have two of those tips what you wanna pay for my stock pile of stock exhaust parts. lol no seriously do you need it and do you need a pic of it first.

i have a set of those mufflers in stock. i ordered a set for a marauder guy but he pussed out. i am shure i can do the setup the way you want. i dont see any resone why not. i am tight on cash so i can get the kooks just yet. i am going to keep the stock 03 cobra manifold until i sell my old car. my lincoln only has 12 pounds but i have a kenne bell sitting in my kithen table.. lol it is very pretty it is the polished one. the car is very ruff right now and it needs a lot of work so once i sell my old car i will be able to fix it up a lot more.

RE: New Custom Stainless Exhaust System on The Mark!

RE: New Custom Stainless Exhaust System on The Mark!

right now the car runs fairly good but i need to fix some stuff before i can put the kb on. i dont really want to put it on but i came with a motor i purchased. i prefer a all black whipple or kb but this unit i have is polished. i dont think there will be much power difrence between this kb and a whipple. i also dont plan to turn it up very much. the main reson i want to put it on is so i can get it off the kitchen counter. also if i can put the eaton back on that other 03 cobra motor i have and sell it with tranny. also i am starting a new club lincolns with eatons... lol

Here are some pictures with the Kooks headers, Magnaflow cats, and stock tips that have been fabricated with 2 1/2" SS pipe installed, and joined with the laser cut SS flanges to the modified x pipe. The exhaust is finally done exactly how I want it :)
