I started working on my new dash for my 95 mkviii. I am tired of not having a oil press/volt meter in my car but want a factory look. I bought a 97 cobra dash and am incorperating it into my mark. the factory plug has unused connections so I won't have to cut or splice the factory harness. it will retain the stock idiot lights and even the arrow pointing to the gas door is correct!(I do have to add 1 wire for the oil press sender) I will post more pics. as I get more finished. (it's nice having a complete parts car to fit/test as I go!)

Wow I was wondering about getting a new dash instead of adding those crappy looking pillar gauges. Keep us updated!
 
as soon as I get the battery and oil press side finished I'll post more pictures of the back. its been interesting getting the gauges to appear flat with the back having a taper and w/metal dash supports behind there is just enough room(I refuse to mod the car for this!) a easier way might be the 4 gauge pod I saw in jegs mustang section. its for 05-07 models and mounts in the center top of the dash(no where near as noticeable as the piller pods) prob have to reshape the bottom to match the mark viii dash. but I think it would look pretty clean I've considered it for a o2,egt,boost and trans temp gauges

I have been thinking the same thing of the pod on top of the dash let us know how that works out i may just have youi do mine too lol
