So we all know about the cruise control recall from Ford. I got the notice last sept. took the car to the Lincoln Dealer then and they could not do it because of an issue with getting the screws out of the fender panel. So i finally get around to going to the Ford dealership to see what could be done there and they said it can be done there without removing the panel. So they take it to the shop and its in for about 1.5 hours. they bring back around for me after washing it and tell me oh by the way the parts were available for my year 93 so they completed the work and my cruise control is done!!:D

I think we should be expecting our notices. I might stop by my dealer to find out if they have the part.

One thing the service desk did tell me before they started on my car was that the parts for the recall had been pushed back till April but it was to a general question about the recall parts. I guess i was lucky and they had them in for the 93.

Note to Driller: Don't go to that Lincoln Dealer.:D

They didn't know that the cruise control deactivation switch is not located behind the inner fender panel on a 93 Mark VIII. It's under the brake booster. Don't they even look at a manual anymore?:D

That's why I don't take my cars to dealerships.

April? Argh! It better be in before I need to drive 530 miles to Carlisle in June!!
