Bought some GM carpet dye for the blue truck. DO Not USE spray on car fresheners...this is what happens. It bleaches the color out in the sun.
I always used New Car Smell Spray found at AutoZone in a rack.

If youre going to use it, put a sponge inside a little tupperware with holes in top and spray the heck outta that, then slide it under your seat. This stuff is nasty bleach to carpets. We'll see how the dye works tommorow.http://

Not too shabby for $24.00 for two cans of dye

I wish i would of gotten 4 spray cans instead of two. It sprays on very thin and you have to make many coats to get the color to start showing. I did heaviest around areas near things. I'll go back and hit the open places later with two more cans on monday when they open up again. At least i wont have to disassemble everything again. At least it looks normal again, im happy with the results. :) http://]

Good job repairing the damage from the air freshener.

Those hanging air fresheners also can cause damage. My wife hung one from the radio knob on her car and it dissolved the plastic that it contacted on the dash. Beware.

You just wonder if this air freshener stuff is so chemically reactive, what does it do to your lungs and body when you breathe it in.

Nice job...that stick sure looks weird in there!!

Ha ha yeah, that one of the reasons i bought the truck. Very rare in a full size truck with the 4.3 vortec. Most of the S-10 Extreme sizes have ordered sticks though. It's a zippy little daily driver after i got done reflashing the computer with no governors, higher RPM ceilings, and faster fuel curve and advance my JET burner. I'm going to use it for the big truck also to tweak the tranny shift points for towing and on the highway.
Yep, Who knows Alex, for all we know threres fomaldahide in those air freshners were breathing in. lol

Looks great!

I wonder if I can dye my grey carpet black?

I'm sure you can Bill. :)

I know a local gearhead with an older Camaro he was/is building up. He and his 'crew' refurbished the tired interior with carpet dye. The old stained gray interior is now very nice looking in black. He did the carpet, headliner, door panels and other various cloth/carpet trim. Along with replacing the seats, it totally transformed the car. I was quite suprised having seen it before the treatment. I would've never had guessed it would've came out looking so good.
