Late last night into the wee hours of the morning as I am compiling shopping carts for front end bits, I was looking into peoples' opinions of different brake pads. I think the most glowing review was logres' opinions of his Greenstuffs, but the funny thing was early on when he first tried them, he was far from impressed. From what I gathered, he had them on a car briefly before it was wrecked, but was underwhelmed, possibly because they were in the bed-in period. Then somewhere later down the line he had them again (with Eric's favorite cryogenic rotors "discussions"
) and absolutely raved about them.
I'm about to pull the trigger on Greenstuffs and Brembo front rotors on partsgeek.com for about $117 after shipping, but am wondering if anyone else has thoughts on them, or this combination in general. The reason I am going this deep into my pockets for front pads is I plan on plenty of higher speed driving and it is important to me to have the best performing pad for the money, especially with a car of this size. If they eat into the rotors, so be it; the Brembos are cheap to replace, and I would still like to do a Cobra setup down the road, probably if/when the hub bearings fail and I have money saved up already for wheels/tires. Maybe Hawk HPS pads are a better alternative?
