Hello, sorry I haven't introduced myself yet, I've been lurking on here a little while trying to learn as much as possible. But now I've got a question.
I own a 1995 Cougar and have just recently bought a 1997 Mark VIII.
The abs pump motor failed on the Cougar last fall and I was able to just pull enough fuses to disable the light in the cluster. That solution works fine for me.
Now the Mark has started intermittently making the same strange noise the Cougar made right before the pump motor failed. (kind of a strange snarl sound during the second cycle after startup, around 15mph I believe)
I'm basically trying to explore my options here before something breaks, Is it possible to disable the abs system via fuses on a 97 Mark? and if so would this cause my speedo to not read, or not read correctly? Oh and Yes I do know that I should just repair it.
