Picked up my new vehicle today and ....

I almost had tears in my eyes as I drove the Mark to the dealership today to trade it in on my vehicle. At the last stop light before the dealership I turned off the traction control, turned off the over drive and stomped it for the last time. Slammed into second (Jmod and chip) ripped through third and then I had to back off. It is going to be sad to not have that power anymore but I knew it was time to move on.

I had cleaned it up the night before because I wanted it to move on in the same condition as when I picked it up. Kind of stupid when trading it in but I wanted the new owner to know that it had been well cared for.

I had posted on another thread that my new ride is a 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac Adrenelin Edition. The only options it does not have are side air curtains and remote start. So now I have most of the conveniences of the Lincoln with more room for the kids and lots more cargo space. The truck rides really nice, shifts extra smooth and the 500 watt stereo system rocks.

Too bad there wasn't a 2003 Lincoln Mark V111 that I could have looked at instead!

You should've kept both, but good luck with the new truck and you are always welcome here anyway of course. I hope you don't have too many or severe withdrawral symptoms. I know many other people have. :)

Good luck with the new ride, u should of taken out the chip tho, and extra $150 US in your pocket can never hurt.

The E was actually burned by the someone - no chip to pull.

Which brings up an interesting question. Could you have purchased a used ECU ith the same catch code, on ebay, and swapped it with yours? And then sold your ECU to one of us who have the same catch code to make a few bucks?

The reason I ask is, well, irrelevant now since the dealer has your car, but imagine someone test driving that car and feeling that shift, and that power, compared to any other "stock" Mark VIII. That car will probably sell to the first "driver".

Dont feel too bad... you can have another one someday. Good luck, and enjoy your new toy.

I suppose I could have swapped the ECU but there was not enough time.

The only reason they took the car on a trade was that the owner test drove it. His Dad owned Lincoln dealerships and he had a 1998 LSC. He was really impressed with the way the car drove and especially with the way it shifted! He was suprised when it broke loose on the 1-2. The Wholesale on my 1997 Mark was $3000.00 - $5000.00 CDN. The highest a wholesaler would go is $4500.00.

I would have loved to keep it as a summer car but an Escape, Explorer, Mark V111 and a boat wouldn't fit on a single car driveway!

Well in that case you should've just bought a bigger house or built a bigger garage!!!

Seriously though, someone is going to appreciate your kindness. Where did you say that dealer was located??? :)
