My passenger side window is acting up....

just wondering how much it is for a new power window motor?

also labor on that?

RE: Power Window Motor

Don't know and don't think I want to know either - but check the switch first. Verify it has the same problem when operated via the master switch on the driver door and the passenger door switch.

RE: Power Window Motor

Its the motor. The switch works fine. I hear the window TRYING to go down but it just wont.

RE: Power Window Motor

It might not be the motor. The green car i have had a piece broken that kept it from going all the way down. It would get half way and get stuck. I had to weld the piece back togeather and bolt it back in there. Also on my Pearl car the trackon the drivers side had gotten bent and did not allow the window to go up all the way. I suggest taking the door panel off first to make sure that it is in fact the motor before buying one.

If the window is trying ot go down under its own power I think that it is not hte motor. Does it go up fine? If so I really think that a piece is to blame not the motor.

Double checking might save you some money.

Simple Power Window Motor repair

Simple Power Window Motor repair

I had a similar problem, window sticking and the motor making a continuous clicking sound. It was a simple and cheap repair, but a little agravating getting all the wires disconnected from the door panel to get to the motor.

1.Take off door panel and disconnect wire connectors
2.Peel back cover over the door's access cutouts to window mechanism
3.Take out three bolts holding motor to inside of panel
NOTE! If window is still raised, removing the motor will cause the window to fall violently without the motor gear to hold window track in place.(nearly lost part of my fingers when this happened to me)
4.Disconnect and remove motor
5.Take cover off of motor
6.Inside(on mine) are the remains of three little plastic balls around a three sided cam; the balls normally stop the cam as I recall and mine were chewed completely up. Without the little balls the motor would not engage and was spinning and striking the casing in between where the balls normaly reside(the clicking noise).Clean out all plastic remains.
7.The fix: I packed some new grease in and installed a simple hex nut that fit the ball slot snugly(three nuts total), these were small, maybe 1/4 inch or 3/8 as I recall. Cam now engages properly.
8.Reverse steps 5 thru 1

My window is still working a year later.

Hope this helps!
