any "gamers" in here?
I dont consider myself a "gamer" by definition, but I am addicted to driving simulators and video game console versions of such.

I know Max shares the same thrill with one of the games as I do

Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo series has been out for years and they finally released the new GT5(gran turismo 5)

I was just curious if any of you folks have a PS3(playstation 3) and get online to race.
I have been chomping away at the game progress.

My A-SPEC level is 27
My B-SPEC level is 23
I have 150 cars, most of which are purpose built/purchased to compete in many of the races

My ultimate goal...lvl 35 in B-spec to compete for the Sebastien Vettel challenge X2010 super car by Adrian Newey of Red Bull engineering.
 
I have the console but not the game....maybe I'll go rent it to see if its worth buying. :)
 
I have finally broke down and bought myself a ps3 when I heard that gt5 came out. lol man, I could of done some more mods to The Mark with the money paid out on this ps3. I think I have as much money in controllers, as I have in the console - I also bought that ps3 move package and extra controllers, chargers, wires, etc.

I am not as far along as you, Craig. lol I have had my butt handed to me every time I play online. :)
 
If anyone's into GTA4 or Battlefied Bad Company 2 let me know. BFBC2 is by far the best most realistic war game out there right now and online play is spectacular.
 
The only war type game I have is: Call of Duty Black Ops for ps3.

lol Wendys son, and her daughters boy friend have gotten online with that game and the strategy is simple - just keep running and shoot anything that moves. I tried it once, and got wasted within seconds. :) I think I would be better as a sniper in the war games.
 
J, dont rent it...it's a progressive game, and you wont be able to do much with a short-term rental deal.
The ARCADE mode is dull.

I have 145 cars now, so Anthrax, if you need any particular cars to meet the criteria of any races, let me know.

and do the SEASON EVENTS.....they pay extremely well.
if you don't have the car you need for the event(s), buy it, modify it to meet the criteria, and run the race. You will be rewarded 10-fold.
i.e. One boring race requires a Prius. I happened to have one as a prize car. Tire restrictions are not present, so I slapped some racing slicks on it($36k credits...i KNOW!)....the race paid $500k credits and a ton of EXP.

I have yet to go online more than 2-3 times.

My B-spec is now lvl 24
my A-spec is now lvl 28


I don't do the role-playing/strategic games....


Mike...the new PS3 'slim' is the way to go. the early models are prone to failure with games that require a lot of HDD use...I have an earlier model, and I'm just waiting for it to crap out.

Oh, and use thumb/flash drives and back up your game saves every couple days.
 
Good info Craig...still waiting to buy it. Priorities....like my B-spec Lincoln coming from Mass.
 
Lol...maybe you should come to sunny Cali and go for a cruise during our 3 Mark 8 car cruise in July, lmao!
