Former LOD President
This story is the reason people carry guns. It's also the reason that i'm pissed off right now that i'm not allowed to have a gun at work, and as such didn't have my gun with me at the time.
Yesterday, on the way to work, i had to change lanes so as to get off on my offramp. I had enough room, so i signaled (my mistake) and got over. Of course, the guy i was getting in front of put it to the floor as soon as he saw my signal. When i got over anyway, and he had to slam on the brakes, he swerved around me, cut me off, and stopped on the freeway. It's a miracle i didn't hit him, and another miracle nobody hit me. If i were in my '78 i probably would have selected the other pedal, but oh well. So i go around. He tries to run me off the road. He's pounding on his window and threatening to kick my arse, trying to get me to pull over and fight. Now, had i had my weapon (i have a permit to carry, but i work on a military base where i'm not allowed to have a weapon, even in my car) i would have simply set it on the dash, watched him turn white, and that would have been that. But no. I had no weapon, and i wasn't stupid enough to stop and get out of the car, so i just gave him the finger and kept driving. I had to deal with this a-hole for the next however many miles i was on the highway, trying to run me off the road and threatening to whup me.
So i get to work yesterday, p.o.'ed. I eventually forgot about it, but not without repeated visions of me beating the hell out of the guy.
So this morning, I was on my way to work again (which is why i was still unarmed), and i stopped to get gas less than a block from my home. I'm about to climb in and leave, and there's some pint-sized (edit) up in my face. Sure enough, i see the same car sitting by the door. I tell the guy that if he touches me, i'm going to see him in jail. He continues to threaten me (i was bigger, so maybe i could have taken him, but i'm not a low-life, so my fighting skills are probably not equal to his). Eventually he head-butts me in the face. He was threatening me with "i know where you work" yada yada yada. I told him straight up, "i work at tacom. If you can get past the guys at the gate with assault rifles then we can play."
I was just wishing that i had my gun. If i did, i'd have drawn it, and if he didn't make me shoot him (which i would hope he would not), i'd have gotten him arrested and pressed assault charges. Either way, if i had my gun that guy wouldn't be threatening any other motorists.
I tried to call the cops but my cellphone was dead, and when i went in to tell the attendant to call the cops, he refused. And i couldn't get the guys license number.
What is it with stupid people?
