Sad Face

As I drove away from Norm's home I actually felt bad about buying his car. I've never seen a grown man with such a sad expression on his face. Of course that feeling lasted long enough to turn the corner. Seriously, I know what it's like to loose a Mark that you love. I bought my first one new with four miles, loved it and pampered it for seven years, and thought I would croak when she was gone. It can never be completely replaced but Miss Ruby (as she will be known, Neal there are already to many Rosie's in Texas)comes really close. Norm has really pampered this car. I drove the 960 miles from his home to mine without a hint of trouble. Consistently exceeded 25MPG @ 85+ MPH in 100 degree temps with AC on, occasionally running up to 120 MPH just to mess with the citizens.

For anyone who may have ever had any concern about the security of LOD finances, forget it. A more honest, nicer person than Norm Wagner won't be found anywhere. In addition to getting to buy a great car, at an honest price, I've found a new friend. As a life-long paranoid loner that trusts few people, I don't apply that title to very many people. Norm, thanks again sir.

Pictures to come when I have more time, and I'll post in the technical forum about the new Michelin's I put on my baby.

RE: Sad Face

Thank you for the kind words. You Sir are one of a kind, a true gentleman.

I know my car has a great new home. I hope everything goes well with the car. That is the longest that car has ever been driven. I'm truly happy no problems arose.

I did pride myself of keeping a clean car.I don't think a week ever went by without it being washed. I can't remember how many times I waxed it.

I can't wait to see pictures of Miss Ruby in her new home.

Thanks again Lee,
Norm

RE: Sad Face

It sure is good to know that car is in a good home. When some of us San Antonio LODers get together we will have to take a group shot of our cars and welcome Miss Ruby to Texas.

RE: Sad Face

I can relate.
As I led Dr. Dave and his Son, Justin from the Motor Vehicle Agency where we flipped the bill of sale from my name to his, I watched them in Winkin following behind me, as I led them to the nearest super highway which would in turn would lead them on the path they sought. I watched every moment I could, knowing it would be the last looks I'd have at Winkin. Those few mental photographs are still etched in my mind. I was afraid that I had done the wrong thing, but I am happy with greenKIN. Selling a car you have loved is indeed difficult. I feel for Norm. Parting is sweet sorrow.
