Shelby Expedition

RE: Shelby Expedition

Is a vette the best car in the world? no
is the Viper the best car in the world? no
Is the TT Cayenne the best car in the world? no

would any of us own any of them if we could? yes.

would anyone like to take a ride in Joe's new toy??? Oh Mutha, you bet your sweet potato ass I would!!!

Now THAT....is a real car! Screw luxury, screw power this, and power that....screw creature comforts....when you set your eyeball on a machine like that(Big Mopar fan here), you just stop caring about just about eveything else in the world, as you feel your eyeballs roll into the back of your skull.

Not to discredit ANY vette/Z06, but there are quite a few out there...you just dont see too many Blue/rallye white RT/10's out there.

Joe...I got nuthin to say you havent said yourself....buckle-up sucka!!!

(oh, and change your sig!)
I think that car ends this whole discussion. 6 lugs, huh? sh-weet.

RE: Shelby Expedition

Steve,

I only wish I owned a viper of any kind. Although there is on for sale on my to work for 39k. I think it is an early version 1993(maybe).

My point to Pete was that while his car is highly modded there are still cars out there that can keep up with it and beat it.

Joe, nice car. I love the color.

First of all you aren't going to see ANY RT/10's in a blue with white stripe combo. NONE (unless you had the car custom painted) There wasn't a single RT/10 made in a blue white combo. There were quite a few GTS's made with the blue/white combo though.

I believe the rarity that your looking for in the Viper color combo is white with blue stripes. Don't hold me to this but I believe there are only something like 150 or so made with that color combination.

next you are going to tell me that is a STOCK car??? In fact, unless the digi-cam messed up, or my settings on my moniter are off, that doesnt look like the factory blue anyway, does it?

yea..well, I prolly got my whole RT/10 and GTS stuff mixed up...that happens when you are staring at a picture of a machine like that, with your jaw locked wide open, tears in your eyes, and after a 12 hour day bringing a 95 LSC back to life.(you have no idea what I just finished).

Joe, to end all....I am speechless. That is an awesome machine(car?-I think not-definately a machine)

Just keep your head about you in that thing, ok?

RE: Shelby Expedition

Maybe if vette owners would stop bragging about their semi-plastic cars so much, people wouldn’t try to rub it in when they beat a STOCK vette.

If your vette is modded, then stop defending the stock vette, because yours is no longer stock, the only thing you share with a stock vette is the plastic interior :)

Btw, pete, what happened to the house updates? How is it going?

RE: Shelby Expedition

lol i have not seen many vettes that are impressive. the only two cool ones i have seen since the 90s lived in the florida keys and both where tuned by john meenie. joe i will run you at the standing mile race in my mustang. i think the point of this thread is that bla bla bla there are a lot of fast cars out there now and every one where thinks what they like is the best.

I will go out on a limb and say that it definetly looks like the factory blue to me. I'm sure Joe can tell us for sure. And I have a pretty good idea of all the work you've done.

No I don't work on my car myself I have it done, but I've spent countless hours working on aircraft; as a matter of fact we've brought our Cherokee back to life. There were 3 of us working on it but we slaved over it for over 3 months before we brought it back into flying condition.

Don't ever tell me I don't know what you've been through or anything like that. Unlike most kids I do have to work for what I have. Very little is just handed down to me.

RE: Shelby Expedition

The body has never been repainted. THe front fascia is carbon fiber and has of course been painted, along with the side skirts.

Pete/Steve I just sent the payment for my new baby. I got this car because it is the total package. I will not drive her but a couple thousand miles a year so comfort has taken back seat. She does not have ABS, but has 8 piston 15" front brakes... I think it is realatively safe to say that it will roll everyones ass on ANY road course on this forum as well as the standing 1.2mile. However Pete I will have to do a pully change to get down in your 1/4 mile ET/mph realm. Props on the 9.21 @ 149!!

I like mine better :) Even if yours is faster in the 1/4! :).

xo xo xo xo xo xo RANT TIME!(you started it)
Jayello, you seem to be the only one who misunderstands what others have written. This angers me. it has happened on more than one occasion where someone reads simple words, and due to attitude, not aptitude, they think someone is picking a fight.

"you have no idea what I have been through"

was another way of saying, "you have no idea how confused my brain is right now since I had to figure out on my own how to time a 4 cam motor's camshafts since I couldnt find the info I needed on a Saturday night at 8:00pm". Thats what I had "been through".

If you go looking for a fight, you can find one. But if you take words for their literal sense, you will understand them. YOU have no idea what I have been through. Literally. Do you? Do you know what kind of day I had when I wrote "RT/10" instead of GTS? I dont think so.

I also am pretty darn sure you dont know who I am, and where my money comes from. I am DEFINATELY positive you werent referring to me as a KID who has had a single thing handed to him. I hope not. Because you couldnt be farther from the truth.

If you spend any time on the internet, at different mark VIII discussion boards(yes, there are other markVIII message boards out there), you would probably realize that I spend most of my time helping others who cannot do for themselves. I volunteer my time, accept no money for my time, and efforts, and receive the greatest satisfaction by making other people happy. I have even been known to spend MY money, helping get their car fixed. Go ahead...ask around. You will find that I am one of the most giving people in my mark VIII community. in fact, I have had a few people from out of state want to drive 1300+ miles to let me help them fix their car. Not based on my ability, but on the fact that in the long run, it would save them money. One very good friend of mine, Sgt. Chad Anderson, of the US Marine Corps, drove for 11 hours, from 29 palms, Ca.-aka-"stumps" for me to do a JMOD to his 97 LSC, then drove back the next day. Ask him how much money I charged him? username "chadly_187".

So, JAYELLO, dont YOU assume for ONE SECOND that you KNOW what I have been through, who I am, or what I do.

and finally, what does your airplane have to do with my mistakenly calling Joe's new toy a RT/10, and not a GTS???

nothing. So, before you go misinterpretting ANYTHING else I have written, I will write this as clear as I can, since I am sure this thread will be locked soon.(all because of some folks who clearly cannot comprehend the words that are written infront of their face-that comes from attitude, not aptitude)

The original thread was about a high-dollar SUV that raves about some horsepower numbers, and mentioned nothing about handling.

My response(which some how fumed many corvette owners) was simply:
Why would someone want to buy a Ford exploder for over $110k, when they could have a Porsche cayenne turbo for less? And the fact that a Porsche cayenne is supposed to have enough handling(for a big truck) to stay competitve with a C5 corvette(used only as an example, since it is a vehicle that people can easily recognize, and relate to). had the Porsche been compared to a Aston Martin Vanquish, that comparison would have yeilded no comprehension, since most of the readers of that article dont even know what tha A.M. Vanquish looks like. it was not meant to degrade any corvette's, but merely compliment the performance, and handling of a german-built SUV. No where did it say that the Corvette handles like a truck. it simply showed that on one occaision, a corvette turned in slower lap times than the SUV. Of course it wasnt a Z-O6, or a highly modified vette. We all know that. But then again, if the Porsche couldnt have held its own against the vette, then why would the author use it as an example? he would have used a M3, or a Cobra....but, he didnt.
