The new owner should be very pleased. :)

Congrats on the sale, but we'll be sorry to see you go. Hope someone who enjoys the car as much as you did got her.

Now I really want to know!!!

After starting two different threads about your HVAC problem, and getting all the replies by Mrjohn, myself, and many others, you just let them both go dead. You stopped posting.

Were we right?
Were we wrong?
Did you sell the car without ever getting it fixed?
Did the shop that did the original repair find their mistake?
Did you fix it yourself?

Mrjohn and I invested a fair bit of time and research into trying to help you, Barry. I really enjoy helping when I can, but at least give us the satisfaction of knowing what happened!

RE: SOLD-'98 Mark, 22K miles, Speedstars

I am so very sorry. that does sound very rude and I don't usually operate that way. Please forgive the slight.
I had it in to one more dealer and he had no luck so I finaly told him to stop looking. The air would work fine if I put it on vent/floor mode to start the day with and drove it a couple of blocks or up to a mile sometimes, and then switch to auto. It never would not work after that during a driving period. And most times with a short stop it would work just fine on auto on a restart. The air was always cold after the recharge so out of frustration I never solved the problem completely. I informed the new owner about sometimes needing to start on vent/floor mode and he was fine with that. I'm sure he wil be reading this post and joining the club as I mentioned it to him. Thanks again for all of your help. It was greatly appreciated.
Barry

Thanks, Barry!

At no point did I think you slighted me, but my curiosity was killing me. Even knowing it's not fixed makes me feel better than not knowing at all!!!

By the way... did you sell it to a guy named Clarence? (No reason, just more curiosity.)

RE: SOLD-'98 Mark, 22K miles, Speedstars

Frankie, I also was curious so don't feel alone on this. We need our members to give us feed back for all of our benefit. It is also great that we have some full fledge Ford Techs that chime in on occasion to help us, but they too like to hear some feed back to confirm their diagnosis. Lets all keep the info flowing. :)

RE: SOLD-'98 Mark, 22K miles, Speedstars

Clarence is not the new owner.
Everyones help was greatly appreciated and you are a terrific bunch of people. I just finished looking at more cars on ebay, lol. May see you all one day again.
