Stayed tight with M3

I went to New York yesterday to see the Red Sox pound on the Yanks and didn't even really have one opportunity to race until I was almost all of the way home.

So, I'm cruising along staying around 80-85 mph with 3 of my buddies in the car and almost a full tank of gas when I see this Bimmer manuevering it's way recklessly through traffic. Needless to say, I didn't want him to cut me off, so I limited the space between myself and the car in front of me. The Bimmer noticed this and looked over at me as he swerved around some of the cars in the other 2 lanes. Traffic was really congested, so I couldn't go after him right away, but I had my plans for if and when the road opened up. I saw that the Bimmer was an M3....probably a 98-99, not brand new.

Anyway, I see the guy swerving in and out and he makes his way about 1/8 to 1/4 mile up ahead of me. I waited patiently until my chance came. When it finally did after a couple of minutes, I quickly caught up with him and passed him on the right. There was no where to go because of traffic, so I had to drop back in behind him until my real chance to test him came. It wasn't long before some good space opened up in the right lanes and he hit the gas. I switched my O/D off and hit my gas too. He quickly gained a couple of car lengths, but with my pedal to the floor, it seemed like seconds before I was going a smooth 130 mph. At that point, to mine and my friends shock, I had actually picked up the couple of car lenghts that I had lost in the beginning. So, I'm sure this Bimmer driver was pretty surprised to see me tight in his mirror when we started to have to slow down. After that, my point had been proven and I let the kid driving the M3 continue his weaving while I basked in the glory of putting up a great little fight.

Even though I never passed him while racing, I knew, my friends knew and the Bimmer driver knew that this punk M3 had nothing on the Mark VIII.
