I am pretty sure I know the answer (and why), but I figured I would ask anyway (just in case someone else is thinking/wondering the same thing): can a Gen1 steering column be used in a Gen2 car? I know some of the electronics are different, and that is one of the reasons I ask. If the column itself is workable (as I have a Gen2 with broken/bad/missing balls slide tracks and no auto retract/extend stops), can they be interchanged?
The yards here have several Gen1 cars but NO ONE has a Gen2 anywhere within 200 miles of me, and I really NEED to fix my column. Any help with this would be wonderful and greatly appreciated.
