OK so when I first got my mark VIII the steering wheel buttons lit up they don't any more I am trying to figure out if there is s fuse for them the buttons themselfs still work they just don't light up

You can carefully remove the top of the button and replace the bulbs. If all of them went out, you'll want to pull the air bag (remove battery cable :)) and check the wiring. The wires are super small and brittle. Once the air bag is removed, use a test light or volt meter to see if the controls are getting power when the lights are turned on.

Back track from there. There is no fuse for the controls.

I think first would be to ask the question if the cruise controll is working or not, horn, and also if any air bag warning lights on the mesage center. That would lead me to te clock spring wornout and all the lines go through that. there is only one ground that is not attached to it for the lights. I dont think both sets of lights would go out at once but wierd things can happen with voltage spikes and such. If both those are a go, then remove the airbag and go to town Ohming out the wiring for opens and lastly buying those lil bulbs. Have we ever found a vendor for them to buy? The same size are inside the ETAC also and can be replaced, but i still dont know who sells them or if we can order them off the internet. Let us know how it turns out and if you find a vendor for the bulbs.
Thanks a ton.
