I'm a marine mechanic and I work by lake mead. between 110+ temps and a crap load of broken boats free time is at a premium! I also installed the stock cobra inner structure and mated it to the mkviii inner structure(wanted the stock look) it was twice as much work than I expected (hope it will be worth the work!!) now I know why the aftermarket hoods tout the smooth look! (all the inner structure is above the original hood line!) depending on the workload I'm hoping to get the underside in primer this weekend. I want to let the body work settle for a couple of weeks then start painting (lincons three stage paint is expensive!!!!) the van is a ford 3/4 ton 1977 47,000 mile 4x4 pathfinder conversion needing a different body! has a dual quad factory intake with 2 500 cfm competition afb carbs on a 460(not factory installed) it will haul/pull 15,000 lbs at 6 mpg (9-10 empty) glad it has 2 tanks on a steep grade loaded you can watch the fuel gauge drop!I let it sit for months at a time let the electric pump fill the carbs and it will fire in 4-5 revolutions every time!I out pull my bros. 1 ton 92 ford diesel but he gets 12-13 empty and 9-10 loaded.
