I don't see where this is posted before so it's probably not possible or hasn't been done, But do any of the gurus know if it would be possible to swap a non telescopic column from a first gen car into my 97. I realize the earlier cars had the ignition on the column but i'm wondering if they're similar enough otherwise.
I currently have my easy entry turned off and both drivers set so the wheel is in the same place. this works good until the battery is unhooked and it pulls back into the dash. I'm thinking about unplugging the motor, but if an earlier column would work I'd at least still have manual tilt.
