The Exhaust We Have All Been Waiting For!

It's IN!!! It's been about a year and a half in the making, but I'd have to say it was worth the wait.

Daniel Rotolante (aka BlkMk8) really did right by me.

One of the guys at the shop said she sounded like a Ferrari. :)

I rode home with the mufflers wide open, and it probably is a bit much for a long toll road drive, but man she sounds killer coming out of the tollbooths!

As we all also have learned, I suck a posting pics, so here's a link. Pics 13-20 are the installed setup.

Can't wait til the track opens up now. :)

RE: The Exhaust We Have All Been Waiting For!

Thanks Ray! Yeah, hopefully someone around here has the equipment to get a sound clip for me. It really is a sound that needs to be heard. :)

RE: The Exhaust We Have All Been Waiting For!

Do those mufflers make coffee as well or something? Looks good, just paint the pipe between the tips and muffler black.
Next we need a sound clip.

RE: The Exhaust We Have All Been Waiting For!

Looks great! Don't mind me when you come to Cincy and I show up with a jack. I am just going to crawl underneath and rub on it. Damn that is one sexy exhaust. Excuse me I need some private time.

RE: The Exhaust We Have All Been Waiting For!

Thanks! Yeah, good idea Steve, we'll try that paint.

Ryan, you've got me a little scared, buddy. ;-)

The kid says he thinks he can get a sound clip, but of course, when Hubby came home from work he decided to take my car out to some meeting tonight (I think he cruises for chicks like twice a month), so we'll have to try tomorrow or this weekend.

RE: The Exhaust We Have All Been Waiting For!

:D Looks good, now tell us more about the mufflers.

RE: The Exhaust We Have All Been Waiting For!

Finally !!!
Can't wait to hear it at the Carlisle !!
BTW, are you coming to the Dynotune in April ??? Bunch of us will be there ...

RE: The Exhaust We Have All Been Waiting For!

Wow those muffs are very different, tell us what's up with those!!

RE: The Exhaust We Have All Been Waiting For!

Well, I don't have much info on the mufflers, but I did ask Daniel to post some info about them. Basically, those red knobs open and close a butterfly and changes the sound of the exhaust.

Jeremi, I don't think I'm gonna get a dyno tune, but I'll definitely come out that way. Let's figure out who's gonna be there when, and we can get a group together to do something.

I won't be going to Carlisle this year, but if anyone wants to hear me in person -- WFC 7 will be the place to be. :)

No Carlise??? BOOOOO HIIISSSSSSSS.
say it aint so.Sharon, it wont be the same without you. Please tell me your not serious.

RE: The Exhaust We Have All Been Waiting For!

IS there any noticeable improvements by separating the x-pipes that way? The small X in the slant looks cool. It adds flair. But does it add anything else or does the separation take away. THis is just a question Sharon. If there are no ill effects to having it split...and you don't mind I would copy your system because it looks great. Still not sure about the tuneable mufflers.

Btw Sharon I was just kidding about the rubbing. Those burns are the kind you don't want to explain. lol... I can't wait to meet you and your husband later this month. Oh yeah who can forget the BABY. See you then. Give me a yell when you get close.

RE: The Exhaust We Have All Been Waiting For!

There was an email joke a while back about women drivers. It showed a picture of a blond in a BMW driving down the road with the gas pump still in the filling hole. Your last picture reminds me of that.

RE: The Exhaust We Have All Been Waiting For!

Sorry Chris - no Carlisle this year...

But maybe you can make it out to World Ford Challenge on your way there if you're doing the trailer bit this year. WFC is a lot closer (to me at least), a lot cheaper, and has racing to watch, too. Plus I bet there'll be more superchargers than you can shake a stick at. ;-) Oh, and the nightlife in St. Louis has got to be better than that in Carlisle. hee hee

Ryan, you're too funny! Regarding the x-pipe, I have no clue to be honest. I was gonna have it put back by the differential, but when the install got to that point, we realized it was never going to fit well by the differential, so it got put where it is instead.

I'm gonna get her dyno'd tomorrow, maybe that will show something. But I really don't know. But I tell ya, I'm still driving with the radio off just so I can listen to the sweet sounds she makes now. :)

RE: The Exhaust We Have All Been Waiting For!

Looks good Trixie. Can you take a profile shot so we can see what is visable from the side. They look like the sit a little lower then the stock ones.

RE: The Exhaust We Have All Been Waiting For!

Funny thing you should say that DV8R, I was taking a closer look today and thought the same thing. It's freezing out though, so I'll take some more pics tomorrow.

In the meantime, I uploaded a couple of WAV files (they don't do the sound justice, IMO, but they aren't that bad for an idea). Of course, I have no clue how to post the link, so you're gonna have to go to my exhaust directory and pick the 2 files.

RE: The Exhaust We Have All Been Waiting For!

I do have drone, but I'm still testing it. Seems like when the mufflers are closed, the drone's at about 2K, when fully open around 2200 or so. I'll just need to get some good driving time and figure out at what speeds I need to adjust the mufflers to minimize the drone.

RE: The Exhaust We Have All Been Waiting For!

The adjustable mufflers really seems like a sweet idea. Those are some of the most unique muffs I've seen. Too bad they aren't polished and shiny though, then they would look really sick!! If you didn't put that second x your drone would probably be much worse. With my exhaust there's a slight drone at 1700 but with the gears your not at the rpm too often so it's perfect for me. Make sure you let us know what kind of gains you get with that set up!
