The new Destroyer ride

It aint a Mark VIII but it does have a 4.6 DOHC. Bought a '99 Cobra convertible, triple black with an '04 Mach 1 motor, chip, 4.10's, off road h pipe/flowmasters, pulleys and a whole bunch of other mods. Should be an honest high 12 second car.

nice ride nick, isnt it sweet you can put the top down right before christmas, what was it today here, 80? lol. gotta love florida.
 
Thanks guys. Feels good to be behind the wheel of a fast car again, helps with my mid life crisis issues as well. Its nice now that the kids are a little older and I dont need to pack a stroller and have big car seats. I got a real good deal on this car and in conjunction with the great Florida weather, its just what the doctor ordered. :cool:

If it makes you feel better, our summer months suck!. Rain, rain, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc.. This is the best time of year in Florida. :big-grin:
 
see i disagree with the rain part, in florida summers, sure you may get rain very often, but it lasts an hour tops, try living in massachusetts nick, when it rains for a week at a time in the summer up there, the rain we get here nothing to me, plus as much sun and heat we have here, we need the rain, the past few months are a few cactus short of the desert.

Yeah you are right about the rain part but man its been hot. I've been here since '92 and this year has remained exceptionally hot. Today was nice and cool though but I'm sure next week it'll be back in the 80's. Move out of the house yet Jamie?. What car is next for you?. There's a nice '97 M8 on Craigslist for $3700 and only 73k miles and the guy has been trying to sell it forever. Bet you could get him down to $3k. Its that creme color though, nice but probably the worst color for a Mark IMO. Before I bought this Cobra I was considering your car and I was considering a '95 Mark VIII w/27k miles that was on Craigslist. Offered $4k for the '95 but the guy had a $4800 offer on the table and went with that. I really wanted a vert otherwise I might've been driving your Mark. Only paid $8200 for the Cobra and I think that was a steal considering the new Mach 1 motor and all the mods.:big-grin:
 
that is a sweet deal for that vert. i'm glad you didnt buy my car, i didnt want to have to see it come around anymore, i'm very glad its out of state now. i havent moved yet we are still looking. and i wont have another mark for myself for a long time if ever again. i really thought i would be more upset about not having my car but honestly i dont even think about it, almost feels like i never had it now. i'm replacing it with a pick up, as soon as i find the right one, i have looked at many already and havent made up my mind yet.

Yeah I know what you mean. I NEVER get attached to cars. I used to when I was younger but not anymore. Love 'em and leave 'em. Anyway I'm thinking of replacing my conversion van with a p/u and was going to check this truck out: http://tampa.craigslist.org/car/511842854.html . Looks decent and its a stick w/a newer crate motor. Get the guy down to $2.5k and it may good to go assuming its in good shape and A/C works. I think I may keep my van a bit longer but this truck may work for you.
 
thats funny i have seen that add twice already, but no way am i going to own a stick in this BS traffic we have here, with a red light every 6 feet and people smashing on their brakes for no reason, that last thing i want to be doing is gear jammin. its too bad because the truck looks and sounds decent, but that whole standard transmission shot that deal to hell real fast! i wouldnt mind a little sports car with a manual, i have owned many sticks, but i dont want a stick as a daily driver no way. im actually going to test drive this one tomorrow i am very interested in this one.

J Linn motors huh. Years ago I had the cops go there. They sold my buddy's wife a car with a transmission that was shot. Took the car back just hours after they bought it and the guy says he's got got some stuff that will fix the tranny and they will have no problems. You know the little tricks some dealers have to band aid fix and disquise big problems. At that point they wanted their money back and the dealer wasn't budging (he was a real jerkoff). They called me to go over there because, well if I start yelling, I usually get my way. Long story short, dealer wasn't cooperating and insisted we use his lubricant to put in the tranny and all will be well and I told him we cant and wont do that and to take his lubricant home and stick it up his a$$. Now he was irrate, I was irrate, my buddy and his wife were kinda stunned at what was going on. Before things got even more out of hand I decided to call the police. The dealer is now telling my buddy and I to get off the property. I told him once we settle this with the police we wll leave. His response was "you called the cops?". I said yes, they will be here shortly. Guy goes back to the office, comes out with my buddies money and the keys plus title to the car they traded in. Cops come, this guy is nervous as hell. Cops ask if everything is ok, I explained what happened and we all left. That was my experience with J Linn motors.
 
lol i have delt with these guys too already over 2 mark VIII's. i did get the impression they are scumbags too, but if the truck is nice and everything is ok with it, i'll deal fast and split. my father in law has taught me alot about dealing with people like that and trust me, if my father in law goes to a place like that, he'll make the people go bankrupt!!
 
well i didnt even stay 2 minutes to look at that truck lol its an old snow plow truck from up north, the entire chassis is covered in rust. but i did buy one!! i'll start a new post.
