Nice bike man, take care of her. Get some flush mounts on that thing. And Merry Christmas! ;-)

Thanks buddy, yeah, flush mounts and frame sliders just in case! My other choice was a 600RR since my last bike was an F3. I just happened to find the Ducati before an RR.

Thanks all, and I have started a collection for the inevitable tickets I will be getting. LOL! :)

Good morning class. Today we will be learing about torque. Mr Zamudio has been kind enough to bring in his ducati today to show us torque in its purest form and what it can cause. See the big smile on his face. This is the result of overtorque. Normally never seen from other sport bike riders.
If quizzes are quizzical, what are tests?

RE: This Duc needed a home.

Beautiful bike! I once visited the Ducati factory, the craftsmen there really take pride in their work.

LOL!!! I just hope I don't run into any demonic squirrels like in HOTLNC's post.

RE: This Duc needed a home.

Ohhhhh man! She is AWESOME!!! There is NOTHING like the Duc....nothing. Sure the rumble of a V twin, or the solidity of a rigid...or the down bars and rear sets of an old GPZ 750...but the Duc....its the Bordeaux of bikes....

I am very jealous....Joe's Viper makes me cry...but the Duc is easier for me to fathom, as it is in reality, obtainable.

Very nicely done. I am very impressed.

RE: This Duc needed a home.

Adjust the valves? Do they stretch and not seat well anymore? what is the deal with that?

RE: This Duc needed a home.

Ducatis have Desmodronic valve actuation. The valves are actuated by a complicated set of belts. It is a very unpleasant and difficult procedure to do...On motorcycles, the valves adjustment varies from between 5,000miles to 25,000 miles.

RE: This Duc needed a home.

From what I hear, adjusting Duc valves is alot like performing neuro-surgery on a hamster.

I tell ya, the italians sure know how to make some "technical" power.

Yup, not looking forward to that. Every 6,000 miles they should be checked on the Duc, I've heard its 15,000 miles on the Honda twin...
Nice SuperHawk too. I was considering the RC51, but I've always loved the styling on the Ducati Superbikes.
