NEW YORK, May 19 (Reuters) - General Motors Corp's (GM.N) plan for a bankruptcy filing involves a quick sale of the company's healthy assets to a new company initially owned by the U.S. government, a source familiar with the situation said on Tuesday.

As much as it might suck that Chrysler has declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and GM is most likely going to be bought by the government, I think that it's pretty incredible that here Ford stands, more or less just fine having taken no money from the government.

Discuss!

It's all relative. I wouldn't say they are just fine, but relatively compared to GM & Chrysler they certainly are in better shape. Having not taken government money was in hind sight a good move, but remember they too were seeking 'bailouts' with the others. There are so many contributing factors to consider, it's difficult to focus on any single issue.

Being as most unions are just one step away from being crime families (being a relative gets you in fairly easily), I think it's good that these folks have to find honest work for once in their lives.

A line worker making more than an engineer just never made sense to me.
