One of the most moving pictures I know. This is why we honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for this country.
Remember James John Regan and every other man and woman who eternally rests so we can live in the greatest country in the world.

that is very moving, I hope I don't take away from your post.
This is my Grandfather and Grandmother. He did not die in WW2, but his brother did, He left us in 1980. She just left us this Jan.

Miss them both everyday. Got to do I'm getting my keyboard all wet.

i will be thinking of my grandfather this weekend. he was a WWII vet born in 1918 and died in 1986. i really miss him alot even though i am much older now i miss having my gramps, he was a hell of a guy. its too bad that this weekend alot of people get totally wasted and party but the real reason for this weekend is to remember all the dead men and woman who kept us where we are today. i dont party on this weekend, kind of just hang around.
that is a sad photo above though.

I'll be remembering my Grandpa on Memorial Day with flowers. He passed three years ago, and was laid to rest on Memorial Day of 2005. I miss everything about him, and really enjoyed his stories from his days in WWII. He worked on airplanes, mostly P-40s, and loved P-38 Lightnings the most. I went to see a P-38 at a local airshow just a couple months after he passed, just to see what it was like. What an amazing airplane! I felt privileged to see it fly. I've been to a few airshows in the past, and always love the old prop planes the best.
