Today's hail storm

Perhaps some of you heard of the freakish hail storm that hit parts of NYC and Long Island today. The sky turned pitch black, street lights all came on, the dogs dove under the bed and this came out of the sky!

WOW! Please tell us that Moose and Elky were parked in some kind of a bunker??
 
Moose and Elky were fine, the biggest hail stones did a lot of damage to vehicles but were not here. I had a few like those in the picture but mostly were about the size of a pea.
 
Thats weird, we got the dark skies in Suffolk but no hail, we heard we'd get some but nothing
 
On July 2nd and then again a week later we had pea-sized hail here in the Detroit area. My Mark was in the driveway and it was getting hit, but not a scratch! The hail was oefectly round and smooth, not jagged. I examined it closely and it stayed intact! Hail causes damage when it's golf ball-sized and larger.
