RE: Tuesday Night at Jillians

John, I'll probably get there about 6:00, and will go to the same spot that I was in last week. Perhaps we can meet there and then move to a better spot if you wish to display your ride. See you there.

Hi Greg and Leo ,

I am looking foward to meeting you guys , I dont know if ill be showing my car , it is dirty and the engine compartment needs to be detailed , but its good enough to park with the hood closed and a cover over it ,putting it next to your cars ...I thought we had a active chapter to the club on LI , its a shame we cant get more people together .....I dont get off til 5:30 so I should be there about 5:45 or so ...see you guys then

RE: Tuesday Night at Jillians

Hey guys, sorry that I was late and missed hooking up with you.
Just as I was finishing up preping the Mark, about 3:00, I got an urgent phone call from my dad. The stomach tube that he uses for feeding since his stroke had become dislodged. I rushed over and we spent the next 31/2 hrs. in the emergency room getting it replaced. Got to Jillians about 7:15, by then it was really jam-packed. I wound up parking in the uphill lot next to a 1st. gen (fellow LODer?). By then the display cars packed the lot all the way down to Comp USA. Went through the entire lot looking for signs of Moose or other LODers, no luck.
WOW that was some turn out, many hundreds of custom and unique cars and many thousands of viewers. I think that Sandy really would have enjoyed seeing some of the rare cars there, like the '50 Nash convertible with the "LOIS LANE" plates. I don't think that I've ever seen so many chopped and channeled Mercs and Lincos in one gathering. It really was the perfect night for seeing a lot of great cars and motorcycles. The down side was it was too crowded to shoot any good photos. I hope it hasn't become so popular that Jillians decideds that the "meet" is hampering business and refuses to host it.
Hope to see you next week, it's so crowded that perhaps it would be good to decide where to meet in advance. Again, sorry for not getting a chance to meet up with you.
