So my mark VIII that I sold a few years ago is still roaming around my neighborhood from time to time.

The lady that I sold it to called me up and mentioned that her headlights were out.

I replaced them with the delrin adapters and a mini balast HID kit from fleabay.

Since apparently I have a problem :D when it comes to these cars. I gave it a thorough once over. And of course i took pics...
The Bad:
Blend door is broken
Two button covers (windows, door locks) are now missing
Front Right Upper Control arm boot is torn
I think the pulley next the alternator is on its way out, it makes some noise and has a bit of play in it.
Someone scraped the car next to the grille

The Good:
HID lenses still CLEAR
Neon Works
The interior is still in good shape, she is a small lady so the seats are in good condition!
Air suspension still works
Car still has low miles sub 75k
Cupholder still works
Oil is fresh
no lasagna on the rear window
I miss it :(

I used my new "impact wrench" so it was neat! There were a few issues that took extra time because I had to "dry out" the moisture in one of the headlights since the shop that "checked" on them before screwed up the back cover.

That said it takes about 40 min or so ... but it took me 1.5 hrs because of the "drying" I mentioned above and I had to tape up the lights from the back because the new "HIDs" won't fit through the little stock holes for the wires unless u splice up the wires and redo it.

BTW. I couldn't get that HID ballast off after removing a screw that holds, I figured I'd keep the working ballast as a souvenir but... decided it wasn't worth my time. I totally forgot that the 1998 uses a single ballast for both bulbs.

Bring it up I'll do it in 30 min or less :D

Uh, no, there are two ballasts, and they're held in the plastic rack by two through screws.

And what's this taping all about? Did you look at the pics in my thread on how to use the adapters?

You used some kind of goop, I used tape. The HID kit i purchased didn't come with a rubber grommet to be in place of the factory plastic locking one.
And whoever worked on the car prior broke the clear plastic moisture lock cover.

On that mark both low voltage wires came to and from one what appeared to be "ballast" next to the horn.
